Help with script

So, as part of me trying to get used to SMBX 2.0, I'm trying to make a small lunaLUA script that basically just forces the SMB2 or Link's HP system onto the player.
I have barely a clue what I'm doing, so obviously that's gonna cause issues, and everything i'm doing is based off of what little i can understand from the Wohlsoft.ru wiki.
So can anyone tell me either A: what I'm doing wrong, or B: suggest an easier way to just do this?
It's not for anything yet I just want to see if I can do it in any capacity.
I can't get it to work and as far as i can tell this is just mindless spaghetti.
