You have to make a folder, and make sure the folder is the same as your level's file name.

If your level is called "warp3", then you would make a folder called "warp3" and put the graphics you want in it.

A folder with the level's filename gets looked at by SMBX when it's loading the level. So, you can put extra graphics in there for SMBX to load.

You can also make a separate folder with any name and then include a level file and its graphics in that folder. That works too.

It uses the custom graphics in both editor and game.
Right click in your episode folder on blank space, and name the folder the same as the .lvl you want the graphics to be in. Then put the graphics you like in there. The Invasion 2 has some good ones to get you started.

Both.

A level loaded is a level loaded.

You can't actually start up a level through the actual game unless it's on a world map. Just an F.Y.I.

Hubs are essentially a type of world map (you still need a world map file for the episode to run).

If you're using a hub then you leave the world map blank and check the "No World Map" box to make sure that the world map isn't accessed after a level is played.
