POW Sliding to Victory has been added to the mix.

This was a level I started creating for the Vanilla Contest, but both ran out of time and already submitted too many levels to begin with. Luckily, this allowed me to go over it with a decidedly chocolate coat of paint. Every want to ride a POW block? Now you can!

The Many Twists and Turns of a Classic Sky Themed Level joins the fray.

I wanted to make an SMB1 level filled with some classic tropes and settled on the sky do to autumn's rather stormy weather. Thanks to Core, MDA, and Murphmario's influx of SMB1 NPCs, I was able to do so. Oddly enough, this level actually started out as a test for the Missile Bill combined with the Bullet Bill Spawner. Needless to say, it makes for a hectic mix as you will see.

Will you soar high or crash to the ground?

Under the Hills of Snow drifts into the heap.

With everyone making winter-themed levels this time of year, I decided to make another to add to the holiday cheer.
Enjoy a crazy cast of NPCs that you would never think go together...from bubble-blowing Dayzees to fire-spitting Flame Chomps. And don't worry about falling in the drink when you're big, as it will spit you out to let you live another day...tis the season for leniency.

Autobomb Autobahn screeches into the lot.

What started out as a graphical joke featuring colorful square outlines became a very neon SMB2 5-2 based level featuring Core's dreaded Autobombs. Roll in style, if you're quick enough to hop into the driver's seat!

Be Mine shows us that there is love in the air...love of explosive mines that is.

I don't remember what I was trying to accomplish when I made Fire Nippers spit mini-mines, but in doing so caused me to create an entire level revolving around various types of mines. We have floating mines to tracking mines and (spoiler alert) my favorite boss Clawgrip to top it off. Hopefully this level's challenges don't make you blow your lid!

Castle Cramped is ready to challenge you...one screen at a time.

In creating a one-screen puzzle level for the Vanilla Contest, many ideas I had didn't end up making it in. This level contains a few of those ideas, some of which have been expanded upon with some chocolatey goodness. Try not to end up on the cutting room floor yourself!

Aerial Acrobatic Alacrity wants you to step right up and flip a card.

Originally planned as a more casino-like theme featuring AutumnMood's flip-over Cards, this morphed into something quite different. Instead, I ended up converting it into a fire and ice cavern after finding some cool ice-themed graphics, as well as reskinning lolcode's Pyro Guys. Suffice it to say, you need to be pretty fired up to make it through this chaos...

The Sullen Statuary zaps into existence.

This level has been on the back burner for a while, so I decided to add a few extra pieces and finally finish it off. I had always liked Waddle's Automaton NPC created for his Mystery Contest level and wanted to convert it to a unique Laser Bowser Statue. Thankfully he was gracious enough to allow me permission to use it and so I combined it with other Statues...fire-spitters, NPC-spitters, fog-blowers, and leapers. Just try not to let them stonewall you.

The Yellow Submarine propels into action.

With the release of MegaDood's Ultimate SML Pack, we were finally given the "Pop" vehicles. I've wanted to make a level with one for some time and began by adding not only classic SML aquatic enemies, but also Clambos and various Mines (another huge thanks to MegaDood for recoding one of these NPC for me). It came together as a trek through an underwater ruin.

Hopefully this maritime expedition doesn't leave you with a sinking feeling.

Face the spooky spectres in this Halloween tale. Will you succumb to a fleshy tomb or will you prevail?

Rendering Failure improperly loads its graphics into the pack.

During a previous upload, I referenced a graphical joke of colorful outlines making up an entire level of mine. I kept it all these years and finally decided to finish it off, using the "World's Hardest Game" as inspiration. While it may not be to the length and extremes of difficulty, it does get quite challenging in the final few rooms. Fortunately I capped it off with RespawnRooms lua to keep deaths from being such a hinderance.

Castle Janked glitches into being.

This is essentially a showcase of a few bugs that I wanted to put into the Science Contest, but ran out of time to do. Two of them can be a bit finnicky, so try to not get frustrated.

In honor of April 1st.

A Starry Night in the FLUDDed Oasis hovers into the group.

I wanted to use the FLUDD for quite a while and decided for a dichotomy of desert and water. This allowed me to bring in the ever-sneaky Leevers and MegaDood's new Blow Hard NPCs. Top it off with a brand new boss from DRACalgar Law, and you have a tricky course that will test your "flying" skills.

Dastardly Dockside Deliveries has now been shipped to the collection.

While it started out as just an attempt to make a parallaxing background from an old SNES game, it soon took on a life of its own. From changing Dolphins into Beta Sharks to changing the Floating Platforms into Parachuted Crates (inspired by the "Lush Life Blast" level) to changing the Ghost Pit to be more mechanical-looking, I settled on making the level feel like you were on a cargo dock.

Hopefully you can sign, seal, and deliver this level into your completed category.

Prismatic Palace shimmers in the distant sky.

As I was recoloring palace blocks of Zelda 2, I was thinking of a good way to combine multiple colors into a single theme. The first iteration was visually messy, so I chose to have the blocks of each room represent one color. As I built the rooms, I decided to let the player tackle them in any order. Throw in a bunch of Murphmario's monsters and now you have a good old fashioned palace!

Don't get cut too deep trying to hack and slash through these hallowed halls.

Re: Disaster Depot (New Level: Giant Feast Fiasco)

Postby DisasterMaster » Sat Sep 30, 2023 12:32 am

Giant Feast Fiasco now has a placed set at the table.

As I was ripping graphics for the online pack, I decided I might as well make a level out of at least one of them. Throw in some bugs infesting the meal and Mal8rk's seeds growing from the scraps...now you have a wacky set of obstacles. The feast wouldn't be complete without some of BroccoliRampage's fruits to give you a quick snack and a leg up. But beware, not all the food is fit for consumption, as some seemingly decadent treats may turn out to be quite sour.

Are you hungry for victory?

Update: Added some indicators to show that you can push the jello bowls and an additional vine setup near the end, as well as some minor fixes to wandering NPCs that can cause some annoying interactions.

Yes.

If anyone wishes to use any custom graphics from any of my levels, please feel free to do so. It's an honor to see my creations get some extra use. If they happen to be custom graphics for another person's custom NPC, just make sure to still credit that person for their creation.
