Music ini. for world map music not working

The song file is in my episode folder. It just keeps playing the SMB1 world 1 theme and not my theme. what did I do wrong? I cant seem to figure it out

The music is in the episode folder, but in the screenshot it tries to read the music from a music_ogg/ subdirectory. Remove all instances of music_ogg/ to fix that.

I literally have to go through every single song file and delete the music_ogg directory?
i just deleted all the other songs and it still doesnt work.

NO DON'T DO THAT.
You were told to delete REFERENCES TO music_ogg IN YOUR INI FILE, NOT DELETE THE FILES THEMSELVES.
You just broke your install by doing that.

What? How? There is no music_ogg folder in SMBX2 that could be deleted.

Ah right. IIRC there used to be but it got removed in later versions when all the music was updated to .ogg. Had forgotten that.
Nevertheless - no-one told you to delete any files, so don't do that.

That's not what I meant. I meant all references to "music.ogg" in the music.ini file but it still didn't work. This never got solved for me but whatever the world map music will be a problem for later.
