SMBX2.exe has stopped working (literally)

When I tried to open SMBX2 today, nothing happened. The SMBX2.exe and SMBXLauncher.exe files no longer work out of seemingly nowhere. I've also tried downloading and reinstalling SMBX2, but that didn't work either. I think it has something to do with the new Windows 10 update that released earlier this week. The only way to open the level editor now is to open a world map file, which is a bit inconvenient. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!

I'm having the same problem. I just downloaded this and it won't start. I'm also on Windows 10.

Seems you have the missing "LunaLoader.exe" and you have the "LunaLoader-exec.exe" only. Antivirus' false positive and attack the "LunaLoader.exe"? Try to run the "LunaLoader-exec.exe" directly and see how it works. (Note it will spawn the command line dialog, ignore it, the difference between -exec and regular that first is used by Editor for the direct runtime integration while normal is used to just run the game).

I've been having this same issue, and I want to add a few things:
-Basically everything other than the launcher itself seems to run fine (i.e. LunaLoader.exe, pge_editor.exe, etc.)
-SMBX2.exe and SMBXLauncher.exe don't work at all, but do start a background process in Task Manager which uses the GPU for a few seconds but doesn't seem to do anything after that
-The issue persists with older versions of SMBX2
-Launcher.html (in SMBX2\data\launcher\) does not load at all
-the old 1.3 launcher (smbx.exe) still runs fine
I have looked into the issue and none of the possible solutions have worked for me.
