... What kind of person is so uncreative that they keep a placeholder name? Anyway! This is a small 6 level minisode I've been working on since about November (yes, I'm that slow at level design).
This looks really neat! SMW is my favorite Super Mario game, so this episode using those graphics (and even the exact world map formula, dang) is really cool!
It's possible to advance the Kamek boss without killing his ghost minions. If you get to Ghost Lemmy before defeating Ghost Larry, Ghost Larry will fall off the platform and continue to shoot fireballs at Mario from below. Eventually, he will teleport to the top of the screen and probably fall on Mario's head. This becomes a real problem when you defeat Kamek, as Ghost Larry can still kill Mario during the cutscene at the end of the fight. I suspect it is also possible to defeat Kamek without killing Ghost Lemmy, which would cause a similar problem.
Another problem is, if you die and restart the fight enough times, the FPS will eventually start to drop. This can be fixed by exiting to the world map and re-entering the level. I ran a profile and it seems to be an issue with bettereffects.

I did actually intend for you to be able to go onto the next phase without beating ludwig (just to make it a not-so-great idea to skip him), although I didn't think about how broken his interaction with the rotating platform and ending would be. As for iggy, he does actually get deleted when the fight ends.
The FPS drop is actually an issue in bettereffects, where effect spawners can never be deleted due to a small oversight. I reported it yesterday, so hopefully it'll be fixed by the next patch.
A small patch is out! Fixes a few minor issues.
- An option to disable playerphysicspatch has been added.
- You now must be on the ground to use screen scrolling.
- In the sewer level, a second checkpoint has been added, the second dragon coin has been made slightly easier to collect and a fence has been extended slightly.
- A second mushroom has been added before the sky level's boss.
- A second fire flower has been added before the castle level's boss.
- Fixed permanent lag spikes occurring in the final boss due to a bettereffects bug.
I highly recommend that you fix the iggy fight at the end of the boss, you can get juggled into a bouncing combo and get knocked off, and when the platform tilts and you take a hit, you can phase through the platform and die instantly because the platform tilts during the hurt animation.
While I'm currently on the level "The Steelie Wheelie Express", this error suddenly pops up when starting the level:
So until this is fixed maybe in the next patch or some other way, I'll have to skip that level for now
Edit: I'm also getting the same error for the final level "Final and also First Keep"

I just downloaded the latest patch for SMBX2 B4, and that fixed the problem now.
Now I was able to complete the whole episode, and I enjoyed the challenges of what the episode has contained, so far so good!
Another patch! Patch notes this time around:
- A bunch of tweaks to the final boss, particularly the final phase.
- Fixed a bug where powering down to big form would have shorter invincibility.
- Minor design tweaks to the unwater level.
I've been away from SMBX in quite a while, but I decided to check out the forums again today.
I must say I'm being blown away when playing this, as the last thing I remember was playing the episodes made for 1.3.
Fantastic job, both with the level design and the scripting! (as I assume scripting is what makes all these new things possible?) I'm so glad the game and community seems to be alive and well!
