But it is outdated, and it's revisions make it no better as it heavily impairs the original manuscript. Also, you might want to read an English Dictionary alongside your little bible there, because it's "are" and "you", they're actual words! Not letters! Wow, think about that! It's only possible for the Bible to be outdated in the parts you're meant to take literally.

Here's your opinion through my eyes. Honestly, I wish I had the patience to read the whole Bible and enlighten myself, but I know enough to tell you it shouldn't be your only source of "facts" to use and bash an entire group of people and what they do.

Anyone who uses the Bible to bash an entire group of people and what they do isn't using the Bible correctly in the first place.

Obviously the writings are really archaic, so I don't think we can use them as reference today. With that said, the Bible isn't necessarily all wrong, but you can't just take a piece of really old writing and use it as factual evidence to support your argument and malign an entire group of people.

Yes, but the bible is full of lies and deceit. Some things are outrageous laws to abide by (men shall not shave their beards? Seriously?) and other things have been debunked through scientific means. The bible is extremely outdated and it's revisions over the thousands of years it has existed are all flawed due to the fact that the writers of those revisions have altered specific things in the bible. Okay then, say it isn't outdated..or ridiculous for that matter. Let's use Leviticus (where most homophobes believe passage 18:22 means "OH MAN GAY PEOPLE ARE BAD" when in fact i've already explained how it is misinterpreted) as an example. I'm going to post 3 ridiculous and obviously outdated things and show you how dumb it really is.

1. God shuns those with disabilities
No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; 19 no man with a crippled foot or hand, 20 or who is a hunchback or a dwarf, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles. (Leviticus 21:16-23)
God basically tells Moses that anyone with a disability isn’t worthy enough to “come near to offer the food of his God.” Essentially, the blind, deaf, paralysed or... the ones with damaged testicles?... are disowned. Isn't he nice? They say God put people with disabilities on this Earth, so why would he shun them? Now that's just silly.

2. You're not allowed to wear clothes made from two materials.
You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material. (Leviticus 19:19)
Basically, cross-breeding animals (eg: like the cattle ranchers did back in the US in the 1800s), planting more than one crop type in a field, or wearing clothes made from, say, cotton and polyester is wrong and you're going to Hell (or whatever punishment was given for that, I don't know tbh)!!11!

3. Cutting your hair at the sides or trimming your beard is wrong.
Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. (Leviticus 19:27)
Does this even need explaining? If you cut your hair at the temples or trim your beard, you're a sinner.

If you take only one quote from Leviticus literally and claim the rest are bullshit, then NONE of it is reliable and it's ALL bullshit. If you say "Well the rest are dumb but I can use Leviticus 18:22 as a reason to justify my hate!!" then you have a double standard and need to visit a proctologist to get your head removed from your arse.

What's funny with these laws is the fact that most (or in my town, at least) Christian schools require students to wear a school uniform that consists of wool and cotton, and boys' hair must be cut to a reasonable length, which I think is not past the neck. They stated these changes in the local morning paper, and those guidelines haven't changed in a while.

I guess they're placing sin upon themselves for the sake of going to a school. Not my problem though.

I said I was AGAINST forcing people to have short hair.

Ooh I can't imagine going to a school that would force you to have short hair that'd be awful. Actually I can imagine it because I used to go to one, but I didn't have long hair at the time. I grow mine down to my shoulders these days, by the way (my avatar's hair is supposed to look like my own).
