Nitro Cups

Mushroom Cup:

Luigi Circuit:
Description: Simple circuit course. It is somewhat in the shape of an L. It has several glider portions and the circuit itself is near a beach, so you can drive underwater at times. There is also an anti-gravity section where you drive on a large cliff before you finish the lap.

Mystery Manor:
Description: Boo themed level. Starts off as a simple forest course before you enter a mansion. Every lap, the manor changes interiors and you find yourself racing through different terrain each time. One of the paths could also have some crazy anti-gravity. You head back outside into the forest to finish the lap.

Subcon Showdown:
Description: Subcon themed level with enemies such as Snifits on the track that can hurt you. It starts in the overworld before going underground briefly which also has some anti-gravity. You then enter the palace and drive up to the top where you glide back down to finish the lap.

Buried Bone Ruins:
Description: Desert themed level. You start off on a normal desert before heading inside a pyramid. You head deep underground where there are lots of ruins and pipes. You eventually return above ground to finish the lap.

Flower Cup:

Toad Port:
Description: Harbor themed level. You start on a boat that has just finished docking and you race around the harbor, sometimes riding on ships that have glider ramps.

Mario Circuit:
Description: Simple circuit. You drive up a mountain before gliding down onto Peach's Castle. You race on the roof briefly before dropping down to continue the circuit. You eventually race up the same mountain again to finish the lap.

Dragon Mountain:
Description: Mountain themed level. You race up a gigantic mountain in a tropical rainforest as a volcano erupts, avoiding lava as you head up. Upon reaching the top, you glide back down to finish the lap.

Delfino Tour:
Description: Mario Sunshine themed level. This course has 3 sections instead of 3 laps. You start on the other side of Isle Delfino with new terrain, racing up and down the hills. Familiar stages such as Bianco Hills can be seen nearby. After finishing the first section, you race on the clouds above Ricco Harbor and Gelato Beach before an anti gravity section sends you spiraling down towards Delfino Plaza. You do a run around the plaza before taking a large cannon to Pinna Park where the second section is completed. You race around the park before driving underwater to reach Sirena Beach where the finish line is the hotel.

Star Cup

Shiver Sea
Description: Ice themed level. You race around on the ice before heading to the sea where there are many ruins of sunken ships. A brief ghost section which is a nod to Super Mario World is also present before you come out of the water and back onto land to finish the lap.

Yoshi Mines
Description: Underground themed level. You initially race on an area resembling Yoshi's Island before heading deep underground. You race around crystal caverns with anti-gravity before you race on minecart tracks. Falling off will just take you to an underwater section. You eventually head back up to land to finish the lap.

DK River Park
Description: River themed level. You race on a river which turns into an insane anti gravity section. You enter a temple which the river is running through and then race back around to finish the lap.

Beat Block Skies:
Description: Sky themed level. You race on floating islands before taking either a red or blue route. You can only pick one and the choice is random each lap. You then get a choice of red or green which is also entirely random leading to you mostly taking different routes each lap.

Special Cup

Waluigi Colosseum
Description: Stadium themed level. You race around in a colosseum that is similar to Wario Colosseum. It also has a shit ton of anti-gravity everywhere. Also has some aspects of Water Park from MK8. That's really it!

Pirate Armada
Description: Ship themed level. This course has 3 sections instead of 3 laps. You race on dangerous and stormy waters where you can't drive underwater. You race on several ships which have glider areas at the end, giving you choice of two ships to land on to continue. You finish the first section after that and drive into a small coral area before emerging back on land where pirate ships are attacking the beach. Upon reaching the end of the second section, you glide onto a massive ship with anti-gravity all over it. After traversing it, you can glide back onto land as the storm ends where you finish the course.

Bowser's Castle
Description: You race into Bowser's Castle, initially avoiding firebars and many other obstacles. You drive deep underground with anti-gravity to reach a foundry section with conveyor belts. You come out into the throne room and glide back outside to finish the lap.

Rainbow Road
Description: You start off in an airship before landing on Rainbow Road itself. The road itself has insane anti-gravity with features such as corkscrews, a loop and even a moment where the Comet Observatory approaches the road and you briefly race on it.

Retro Cups

Shell Cup

Wii - Luigi Circuit
What changes: This course would stay mostly the same, with a glider section or two added into it. An anti-gravity section could also be added towards the end.

SNES Vanilla Lake 1
What changes: Fairly unchanged course. The water sections can be changed into underwater parts like Sherbert Land from the GCN.

GBA Riverside Park
What changes: Mostly unchanged apart from an anti-gravity section somewhere in the course to add more to it. Similar to how GBA Mario Circuit did it.

Wii U Sunshine Airport
What changes: Unchanged.

Banana Cup

3DS Shy Guy Bazaar
What changes: Anti-Gravity added to it can help the course out a lot.

GBA Ribbon Road
What changes: Insane anti-gravity as well as glider sections can be added here to make this course very magical.

Wii U Electrodrome
What changes: Unchanged.

N64 Wario Stadium
What changes: Lots and lots of anti-gravity. Throw lots of it in here.

Leaf Cup

Wii U Thwomp Ruins
What changes: Unchanged

SNES Choco Island 1
What changes: A glider section or two wouldn't do any harm.

Wii Toad's Factory
What changes: This course can benefit a ton from crazy anti-gravity at some parts of the track. The jump near the end could also be a gliding part of the course as well.

3DS Neo Bowser City
What changes: Anti-gravity can give lots more variety to this course.

Lightning Cup

DS Shroom Ridge
What changes: Anti-gravity at some points as well as gliding sections.

Wii U Cloudtop Cruise
What changes: Unchanged.

GCN Bowser's Castle
What changes: Lots of anti-gravity, especially near the end with the bowser machine. That could have some amazing anti-gravity.

GBA Rainbow Road
What changes: This needs the N64 Rainbow Road treatment. Anti-gravity and gliders please.

Battle Stages

Wii U
Description: There have been battle courses such as the Gamecube and DS before, why not the Wii U? Fighting on the controller could be kinda neat.

Mario Kart City
Description: A city themed course that is basically like Block Plaza.

Koopaling Fortress
Description: Fortress themed stage with 7 rooms themed after the 7 koopalings.

Toadette Train
Description: Toadette doesn't really get anything to herself, so a battle stage would do. Fighting inside a large train would be kinda crazy.

Electro Battle
Description: I always thought Electrodrome's aesthetics would be amazing for a battle stage, so yeah. A battle course themed after it would be neat.

Mushroom Resort
Description: A large beach where you can drive onto the hills and glide back down would be neat. Gliders and underwater areas would work well here.

Lakitu Heights
Description: Sky themed stage with lots of bouncy clouds. That means lots of mayhem.

Rainbow Stadium
Description: Seriously, a battle stage themed after Rainbow Road. Why hasn't it been done yet?

SNES Battle Course 2
What changes: The water parts could have some underwater sections added.

N64 Double Deck
What changes: Nothing. It's added as it's the only N64 battle stage left.

GBA Battle Course 4
What changes: Underwater sections.

GCN Luigi's Mansion
What changes: Anti-gravity.

DS Tart Top
What changes: Gliders!

Wii Chain Chomp Wheel
What changes: Anti-gravity to let you battle it out on the ceiling would be awesome.

3DS Wuhu Town
What changes: Unchanged.

Yeah, there are SNES and GBA races remade in all of the Mario Karts so far that have retro cups in them. They're still mostly 2D except in Mario Kart 8.

The fact that there's 8 Mario Kart games right now means that there's room for 2 retro tracks in the game each. Here's what I would add, I may put them in cups later. Please note that for some reason the European localization team renamed some tracks for the European release- Music Park became Melody Motorway(even though the banners still say music park) and Neo Bowser City became Koopa City. I'm using the US defaults for this post. Also I never played Mario Kart 64 so my knowledge of tracks from that game is a bit rusty.

SNES Mario Circuit 1
SNES Vanilla Lake 2
N64 Mario Raceway
N64 Banshee Boardwalk
GBA Cheese Land
GBA Yoshi Desert
GCN Wario Collusium
GCN Bowser Castle
DS Shroom Ridge
DS DK Mountian
Wii Coconut Mall
Wii Koopa Cape
3DS Maka Wuhu
3DS Daisy Plains

Really, that's a waste of money now. I wouldn't get it, but then again I already have it.
