Custom Skins?

I saw in another question, someone asked about setting a skin for an episode for SMW Mario, and someone responded with something along the lines of a lua line involving "SMW-Mario". I noticed this is the same name as the folder for those graphics, do you just need to duplicate a folder, give it a unique name, override all the graphics, and you have your own custom skin for a player?
