I have 2 reasons:

1.The kid should have known what they were getting into when they saw the word "creepy" and most likely a somewhat disturbing image to go along with it.
2.They're fairly popular on the internet. Look how much attention ones like Slenderman, Smile Dog, and Sonic.exe (even though it's dumb) get. They're practically a part of the internet. Getting rid of them is almost like getting rid of 4chan.

Censorship is bad; kids should know what they're getting themselves into in the first place. They're just stories anyways, they can't really hurt anyone.

Look man, fuck Cupcakes and all, but I wouldn't consider that a creepypasta so much as an ultra-dark shock fanfic. I feel like creepypasta is more like… "a friend of a friend told me this" or "I found this old Pokémon game at a yard sale" and purported to be true, if you follow.
