Is there a way to get the Snake Block platform to respawn?

A level I'm working on has a section where you ride 2 snake platforms, one in the first half & one in the second half, with the second platform requiring you to carry a key with you & having a regular Phanto chasing you. Due to the hazardous floor that makes up most of the section, backtracking is very difficult. If you drop the key or miss a Star Coin along the way, there's a pipe next to the locked door that takes you back next to the pipe that leads to the key (which respawns). The problem though is that the Snake Platform doesn't naturally respawn leaving the player with no viable way to go through that part again.

I've tried setting the Snake Block NPCs to generators but they won't automatically be there until the generator spawns them based on the delay, which can't be too short for obvious reasons. Not only that, but the NPCs seem to generate 1 tile lower than they're supposed to. Also, the actual Snake Blocks (which aren't NPCs but actual Blocks) can't be put on a generator either, which means the only way to regenerate more of them would be to pull some layering shenanigans which is still limited in number.

So my question is, is there a more proper way to get a Snake Platform (both NPCs & Blocks) to respawn? Either after a certain amount of time or after the Snake Platform despawns?

This is not currently possible because Snake Blocks don't actually know about other snake blocks or the blocks that connect them, and blocks don't respawn.
