Greetings,
I noticed this game seems very popular. On this forum alone there are tons of episodes/levels. On YouTube there is no shortage of videos about this game or playthroughs of community made levels. My question is, why is no one streaming this on Twitch? Twitch does have a category for it and recently one person, not sure if they were from here (some guy named GamerMouse), did stream it. No VoDs of his stream just clips he made. So does anyone know why this game is not being streamed? I recently downloaded it and a few episodes, in my opinion it's pretty fun.

Eclipsed has been streaming it mostly. I planned to stream it way more often when I got a better computer. I do not remember Twitch having a tag for it though.

Any Game has a tag since Twitch is mostly just a Stream Game Website.
SMBX isn't popular on Twitch because it doesn't belong into the Mainstream are, if you go on Twitch you see which games are the most populated ones that are being played atm (Like Fortnite, Valorant, Minecraft and Among US)
Smbx isn't there and anywhere since it's not even being streamed everyday and very rarely (except when Eclipsed does it) and now even if someone does stream it there won't be enough people to watch.
You could stream that aren't popular on Twitch, but that only really works out if you already have a huge following from something like Twitter or YouTube, starting up from zero on Twitch is very hard since barely anyone will find you yet alone if you play a Game that isn't even a big thing there.

Okay I get it. One one person streams it and everyone watches them. Got it. I was considering streaming it too but by the looks of it Eclipsed has the audience. I've noticed several posts of them here. Are they popular on the forum?

I wouldn't say everyone, they don't have a big audience watching it if i'm being honest here since the game isn't popular enough on Twitch.
No one here is popular, Eclipse is just the person recording most of SMBX around here now with the exception of people that aren't here.

Hey, I just started a brand new Twitch channel and I've been streaming SMW Rom Hacks and planning to do some fan-game and Super Mario Bros. X streaming for sure~ I stream daily, and have been having fun casually running Super Mario World (but randomized)
My system is a Mac and my old computer had SMBX on it. Just recently joined the forums, do you know if SMBX would be compatible on a Mac (with Big Sur installed?) because I'd love to stream it~

SMBX 1.3 (which SMBX2 is derived from) and SMBX-38A are built in an old version of Visual Basic, which is a product from when Microsoft hated everyone else's operating systems. SMBX2 does come with a script to let you run it via Wine, but since these versions of SMBX are 32-bit applications they require 32-bit Wine, which won't work with Big Sur because Apple killed 32-bit computing in Catalina. So here's the alternatives and workarounds:
TheXTech is a Mac OS-compatible C++ port of the original , but it only supports 1.3 levels and episodes. I use it on my Linux computer. If you have an Intel Mac, you can buy a Windows license to install it as a dual-boot via Boot Camp, but if you have an M1 Mac then you can't, as Windows 10 only supports x86 and Microsoft probably won't port it over to Apple Silicon. Otherwise, you can use a virtual machine. Note that those are quite slow and probably not a good idea for streaming.
Personally, I'd say use TheXTech if you don't mind only being able to play 1.3 epsiodes; but if you really want to play 38A and X2 levels you will need a working copy of Windows. If need be you'll end up having to get a Windows PC, which is incredibly wasteful if it's just going to be used to stream SMBX.
I hope my suggestions can be helpful.

They are helpful suggestions yes, I might do some basic streaming of 1.3 levels for now, and eventually expand to a PC but for many different reasons~
