Hey guys! So I recently started playing "Yoshi's Archipelago" and I was so thoroughly impressed with the level designs and creativity. However, I want to play some episodes after I finish Archipelago. So my question is this, "What are some of the best SMBX Episodes?" I know there are some threads that already that cover this, but some of them are outdated and I would just like to know some of the best SMBX Episodes. I don't really care if the episode is old or new, or if it's short or long. As long as it's fun to play! Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks guys!

Every great SMBX episode has their own pros and cons. As I DON'T have a episode worth recommending because of their pros and cons.

Luigi's Fight for the Mushroom Kingdom, The Restoration, tower of biassed series are great episodes that I like and reccomend.
Also I would like if you play my episodes maybe:

Reign Of Giygas

Also Reign of the Gate Keepers was nice

The obvious answer would be the entire 2k1x series, especially Subzero Heroes.

Aside from that, my personal recommendations would be Super Mario Star Expedition (a collectathon-esque episode), Mario Classic and SKL - Mario Classic Adventure (both are episodes based on the classic Mario games).

Tower of Biased series and Return to Dinosaur Land

I don't know if level contests would count as good or bad (although everyone involved did something right if Tower of Biased is among the best).

If there is a plot and the levels are not bad, why not?

I've never managed to finish a Tower of Biased episode. All the decent levels are gated by tiring slogs.

Tower of Biased IMO aren’t that great they are more like just episodes with levels put together in them from worst to best.
Judging was really weird sometimes as well, and they have no real plot or story besides play all these levels and get a unsatisfied for end.

I would recommend something like subzero heroes as that episode shows what can be done with X2 if you focus a lot on its functions and lunalua itself.

I’m not gonna recommend mine bc that’s just selfish and there are some really good ones like the ones made by Valtteri back then.

- apocalypse of foroze is also a good recommendation
- last King of hyrule despite being not so good for many I still recommend it since it focused on Link and that’s rare to see

It have 8/9 worlds, any level with your own gimmick and good level design. Is a very Fun episode!

Wow, I'm surprised to hear I'm not alone with this. At least ToB10 was a fun experience

i never played tower of biased 10
