Kep's Joke Level Contest (JUDGES DETERMINED)
Posted: Sun May 18, 2014 1:40 pm
How it will be run:
Just like the Tower of Biased, this collection of joke levels will be put in an episode named The Jail of Jest and Jokes. There will be four tiers: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff (yeah, those names originated in Harry Potter). You level will get placed in Slytherin if it has a score in between 0.00000 to 3.99999; Ravenclaw has scores from 4.00000 to 6.99999; Hufflepuff has scores from 7.00000 to 8.99999; Gryffindor has scores from 9.00000 to 10; furthermore, there will be no prizes. If someone has an idea about one that has nothing to do with Steam, that would be great. Finally, there won't be a final boss. The reward for beating the final level in Gryffindor will be triumph in your brain, heart, and soul. Also, I will be making the hub and releasing the game in a separate thread, so keep a sharp eye out.
How to submit a level
- -Put your level in a .zip folder, and in that particular folder, include your custom graphics and custom music.
-Please don't put the files in another folder before archiving because I will have to move them out afterwards and that's more unnecessary work for me.
-You may NOT include a readme .txt with tips, credits etc.
-Don't put your name on any of the files.
-Send your level to me in a private message. I will direct them to the judges.
July 4th; (please have all of your levels submitted by any time on July 3rd, though).
Rules
- -Your level must be complete and completable.
-You may submit as much levels as you'd like, because I'd love to get at least fifty submitted before the deadline.
-You may NOT reveal ANY details about your level before they have been judged and I've posted their placement(s) here.
-LunaDLL isn't tolerated. Sorry, folks.
- -To become a judge, you have to stick to this position permanently. I will not accept excuses like "I'm too busy to judge" when the deadline comes.
-Please make sure you have experience with the SMBX level editor and can additionally type well enough to make at least two lines for each category (three categories times two lines equals line equals six lines and three paragraphs).
-When judging a level, you are not allowed to assume who made the level, even in your reviews. There will be blind judging, indicatively.
-You can be a judge AND participate, but you cannot review your own level.
-Reviews will be sent to me and NOBODY ELSE.
-Any reviews that are biased will be removed (for instance, if a level has mammoths in it, you can't say, "Ooh, mammoths! One extra bonus point"! Same applies for music; if the theme is, for example, a bluegrass song, you can't say, "I love that song! Two extra bonus points"! .
-You can have up to five numbers after a decimal.
-Cursing IS allowed in your reviews, but please keep it at least clean - don't curse excessively, and don't curse in every review just to act cool. Censoring will not be tolerated, as it makes the reviews sloppy.
-Do not spam in your reviews, that should be self-explanatory; don't use four or more exclamation points, question marks, or periods.
-If you're not the best at English but get qualified for a level judge, don't worry. I can edit your reviews and fix the grammatical errors.
-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE STRICT.
