I haven’t been playing too much SMBX lately because I broke my right arm in a bike accident. So, in the meantime, I have been watching a lot of YouTube.
Some Mario videos would mention SMBX, but they would refer to 1.3, the really popular Lx xit posts 1.4 footage, and I rarely see SMBX2 footage besides SMBX specific channels, like be-neko(bossedit8). I think SMBX2 is the definitive way to play the game, 1.3 and 1.4 offer user friendly editors, but SMBX2 is undoubtedly the most refined. However, I would confidently say 1.3 is the most popular version, since it is legacy and on the front page of this website. (Not to mention, it’s my favorite version, just cuz nostalgia)

What do you guys think is the most widely used and talked about version?

Not trying to be rude here but it's hard to say 1.3 is the most popular version when most of the active members here helped create and use 2.0 which has alot more stuff than 1.3. Also I would think new members would find the latest version first which us 2.0 as that is the main download right now. I'm not sure why anyone would still have 1.3 for download unless they can't play 2.0 or just don't like it.

We just had a pge vs legacy thread which was more of a 1.3 vs 2.0 thread if you did not notice it.

I know 2.0 is the best version. I’m talking about the most popular version, which by definition, means the most widely used one. The one used by the most people (hence the prefix). I think more people have been playing 1.3, including people not on the forums, because it was around for so long.

Depends on which kind of community you're talking about. The spanish 1.4 facebook community is surely large but we don't pay any attention to it. This place is focused on X2.

I don't know which version of SMBX I like best.

However, I will very likely have a lot of fun with 2.0.0. I wait for this version patiently and with a lot of joy.

I think 1.3 is the most popular but personally 2.0 is my favorite.

I'll still stick to 1.3.0.1 when I can, even to this day.

I'm using the not popular edition of Smbx named smbr.

On the most popular point I do agree with 1.4 due the viewers on it and the high impact it has on outside Smbx forums.

X2 is probably popular just here.

who is "you" and what is "edition"?

By my idea, 38a is casual.
2.0 is professional and latest. 1.3 is from 2009-2011 and may not be as popular as others because of that it's old.
