Other Incarnations of Links as Costumes

Just saying, wouldn't it make sense if Ocarina Of Time Link was a costume for Link? Zelda's appearance in the game is her ocarina of time counterpart, wouldn't it make sense for Link to have his ocarina of time incarnation as a costume?
