Crashing after "WII <3 NINTENDO" screen

Postby WalkerSpectre » Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:33 am

Hey I've been playing this since the very beginning, but I've only now created an account and got to your forums. I've tried many times to re-download the latest version of the game, and every time the same thing happens. In the disclaimer screen, the coin rotates and rotates for a while, and it crashes. Also, when that happens, my antivirus goes crazy. Any fixes?

I suspect that your antivirus forcefully removes files necessary to run the game while the game loads.
To fix that, whitelist the game in your antivirus. Some antivirus programs throw false positives, because SMBX2's executables literally hack into the SMBX 1.3 exe to modify it. Rest assured that they're not harmful to your system.

Oh, you said "latest version", so I assumed you were talking about the latest version most commonly used around here, rather than the latest version published by Redigit.

Try whitelisting the program regardless. 1.3 is also 100% safe.
