Boss Tower by Phazon1111
Looks and Atmosphere
There wasn't really much to this. Near to no BGOs or scenery except in the rooims between bosses (which all looked the same). The rooms were styled to the places the bosses appeared in, but personally, I would've used underground blocks for Birdo so it's not the exact same room for him (her?) and Mouser. But they were all just giant, bland rectangular rooms without any decoration to them, which looks really boring. There also was cutoff in the SMB1 Bowser room.
The music fit pretty well, I only think it was a bit too monotone with that one song playing the whole time.
So, Looks and Atmosphere gets a
2.5/10
Gameplay and Design (counts double)
You didn't really put much effort into designing the boss rooms. They're all just rectangular and open. Some interesting layout could've helped make the vanilla bosses a bit unique. I also didn't really like the Wart layout, since in the original, the Nightmare machine was under Wart, so you had to get up, throw a veggie, and then go down to dodge. The way it is right now, it's just boring. And that can be said for every boss. They're just boring since I've already fought them so many times. It just feels like this was just thrown together without much thought put into.
So, Gameplay and Design gets a
1.5/10
Verdict
This level isn't really that much fun, it's all just bosses that the average SMBX player ha salready fought so many times. If you wanna try another boss/boss rush, I'd recommend either changing the layouts and changing the bosses looks and some attributes via custom GFX and NPC codes aswell as change the layout a bit or
make completely custom bosses. So, my final verdict for this is
1,83/10
