I can't submit a level to the contest due to having a broken left movement key. Sorry. I would have made a quite difficult airship level based on skewers but alas it couldn't be. If I changed my controls, I'd eliminate all the skill I have with SMBX and I can't do that...so I have to now get a replacement key...

I'd say you can do whatever you want as long as it's easy to download and a stable source. What keeps you from using the common sources Mediafire / GoogleDrive / Dropbox?

Simple; my accounts are full. (Most of my submissions go on Discord due to ∞ space as long as no file exceeds 8MB)

I'd say you can make a level both for this contest and then put it into SLAM (though that's not exactly encouraged)

"SLAM level" isn't a design trope and therefore I don't see the distinction between that and any other level for an episode. Generally speaking, levels for episodes usually were crafted with the episode's context in mind, so their submission is unlikely to match well with the rubric and expectations set forth by a contest. It's like taking only the pickles from a burger and calling that a standalone meal. While a good pickle is better than a shit burger, it cannot compare in flavour to a good burger. So I think that's the kind of score relation you may expect from episode levels vs standalone levels.
