Salut folks. I am Core, and i'm SMR's development leader.

So, what is SMR? SMR is fan continuation of SMBX 1.3 by Redigit. It is inspired by NSMBX project (which is dead for a long time now), which was made by XerX. Aside from being continuation, SMR also ports almost every part of SMBX to lua and revamps it if needed.

Development team:
-Core
-MrDoubleA (FlamyRock)
-Wohlstand
-Josh
-SetaYoshi (FlamyRock)
-Novarender (FlamyRock)
-4masty (Tester)
-Idunn (Tester)
Huge props to development team, since SMR wouldn't be the same without all them -w-

Source code:
New spreadsheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
(Experimental) Love2d version - https://github.com/Core-LOVE/SMR-Love2d

FlamyRock is an API on which the game is built on, and allows you to interact with it. FlamyRock may seem similar to LunaLua API, but the "inside" is different due to the lack of memory addresses.

Here you can download old versions of SMR (i want to note that old name of SMR was NSMBX):

You can join SMR's official discord Server! And you can also follow development here - https://discord.gg/RMYdYfX

Great, I have been waiting for this since it ever got announced. Also how will you release future updates? Through patches or different versions like NSMBX 1.1/1.2/1.3 for example.

For sure there's gonna be a different versions (next planned version is 1.1), and patches as well (or maybe even "previews" of new major versions)

Attention users! This is going to be a great thing and a legit alternative for anyone who cannot run SMBX2!

While making something similar counts as competition, this is still not my intention. I don't want to make any other smbx engine obsolete, and you can even check out trailer's comment section to see that i actually think that smbx2 is objectively better, and i have no problems with that. Besides all that, i think that nsmbx may be useful to mac & linux users. (by the way, wohlstand will upload mac & linux versions soon, if anyone is wondering)

No, the problem I'm alluding to is increased confusion and incompatibility.

Well, it's compatible with smbx 1.3 at least, which is a great thing. As for confusion, i can always clear it up, if it happens.
Also i don't get the joke in your previous post then, if it's not related to anything (as i can see).

Perhaps emphasize the fact that this is rather good as an alternative for those who cannot run SMBX2 but otherwise SMBX2 is the officially endorsed version?
Just an idea.

None of any smbx continuations are official.

Now is when PopYoshi moves to NSMBX because he never could run SMBX2

Finally someone understands my argument.

Will the Bee Mushroom be added as planned?.
Will you also have Sonic, Crash Bandicot and Yoshi as playable characters, like when that rumor spread that they were going to be at NSMBX in 2012?

I believe the planning of features between the old nsmbx and current nsmbx is very different from each other but if Core gets to implement the planned stuff for the old nsmbx, then that would be really cool to see.

I can't promise anything, but you can always check spreadsheet though (if you are interested in progress)

What does the Bee Mushroom do, is it different from turning into a fairy?

SMBX2 is.
I don't think so. The only official smbx is smbx 1.3 itself. If you meant endorsed version, then i have no problems with that. (it really depends on what you've meant by official anyways)
