Alright so I think a Guides forum would be good to consolidate all of the informative topics into one place. I made a list of topics that would belong there, most of which being stickies at the moment:
viewtopic.php?f=69&t=22972 - Developer Resources
viewtopic.php?f=69&t=13644 - How to Create a Custom SMBX2 Launcher Page
viewtopic.php?f=90&t=16458 - Tips and Tricks - Working on a Project
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=11204 - SMBX under Linux (and Mac!) with PlayOnLinux/Wine
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=425 - Cheat Codes, Custom NPC Codes, Hidden NPC Tab
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=21539 - How To Find Your Way Around The SMBX2/PGE Editor
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10507 - First Time Users Guide to SMBX
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1011 - NPCs landmarks
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4928 - Moving Layer Calculations
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1711 - How to use SMBX's Online function to edit levels together.
I know this is just a sample of the written guides that have been made for various parts of SMBX but have been lost in the many pages of the forums. The plan is to gather as many as possible if the forum were to be created, and move them there. This would conserve space due to stickies being moved, and it should make support easier to navigate. I think that the subforum should also have a sticky for official resources like the SMBX2 Handbook. I also think that as the forum matures "super guides" could be made as an index for topics like "Everything you need to know about ..." where you will find a compilation of guides organized together. This would be displayed as Help and Support and Guides in its own category to separate it from the content forums.

You may as well update it for 2.0. There are more cheat codes in 2.0 while the hidden NPC tab no longer in 2.0.

The idea is great. I'd suggest a global announcement with links to all help threads on top.

If there is an organized forum on the main page for it, there won't be a need for an announcement I think. A post in forum updates would explain the situation sufficiently enough.

I guess I could move both.

I don't understand. Isn't this what a forum index does? Why would it be necessary to list the threads in an announcement?

I don't see how it would be, but alright. If anyone has found any more guides, please post them here. I'm still looking.

Tutorials index might be nice, with everyone being able to post their own tutorial series as separate guide topics.

Has someone ever made a list of all NPC tags here? I'm too lazy going through 1.3's old manual which is not even included in Beta 4

What's an NPC tag? Do you mean NPC codes?

I referred to common NPC flags. First I didn't know they're in the Cheat Codes thread. Second, seems like there is a huge amount of new flags for SMBX2's new NPCs?

Is there something wrong with using their acknowledged name?

I think there's enough here for it to start. I put the handbook, npc codes, and tutorials index in the sticky.

Oh, I thought you would just move the tutorials index topic into the subforum. Not sure how I feel about it being in the sticky only, since that makes it difficult for someone else to also make tutorials and get in the guides forum (if they need to be added to the sticky too), not to mention it could be a deterrant if someone thinks "well these are THE tutorials so might aswell not bother".

I just moved the tutorials index thread to the Guides forum now. I put those 3 resources there because they are resources that came from the Dev team. I didn't really think about it as a deterrent. If you're sure about that then I can just edit it out.

In the case of the lunalua tutorials, the fact that it came from one of the developers is more of an accident, so I would feel more comfortable if it wasn't treated as something special.
