For SMBX 38A 1.4.5 PATCH 4 AND ABOVE!
I have been working on this for a while now. This is part of my efforts in making a full remaster of SMB1. This patch applies to all characters and all power up variants. Please use SMBX patcher to apply!
NOTE: This will NOT work for versions 1.4.5 - 1.4.5 patch 3. Player offsets didn't exist in between versions!
IN ADDITION: This download contains a .plx file only, if you don't know what that is it means you have to download SMBX Patcher for 38A(Found here:https://wohlsoft.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=1723) and apply that patch to a level.

CURRENT VERSION HERE:
Version 1.3 - Swimming animation and offset fixes! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PZZAId ... sp=sharing
IMAGE FILES ONLY:

Older Versions:
The HUD you see in the screenshots are not included.
Please let me know if you experience any bugs!

Read the opening post, no! It's a 1.4.4- 1.4.5 exclusive!

Oh, sorry about that.
Is it possible to make it available for 2.0? Not saying I need it, but just throwing it out there in the realm of possibility.

What exactly makes it an exclusive? The decision to encrypt it for some reason? SMBX2 can use png files with hitbox offsets just fine, and I'm pretty sure 38A didn't wildly rearrange the player sheets. This seems arbitrary from what I can tell. If it wasn't encrypted somebody would be able to help make it SMBX2-compatible in a matter of minutes. I feel like everyone would benefit from that, if we didn't encrypt our sprites.

Okay first of all I want to address this, this is a .plx file made from SMBX Patcher you can download here https://wohlsoft.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=1723. If you applied this graphics patch to a 38A level you would see that they are NOT encrypted(however the offset editor is a hidden function really only editable in 1.4.4 for reasons I don't know you'd have to ask 38A himself.). I'm not at all knowledgeable on SMBX 2.0 in the slightest so I didn't know that it supported PNG and offsets until now. Second of all I think that 38A's offset are NOT directly compatible with 2.0 however after hearing demands for a 2.0 version I will gladly make it.

If you can post the raw png files I can take a jab at the offsets next week. Thanks for bringing that up, actually. I'm gonna write a short guide for how to use the SMBX2 offset tool.

Just did, I updated the OP and you can download them under "IMAGE FILES ONLY."

Thank you! And I finished the overview of the hitbox calibration tool we have in SMBX2. If you would like to learn more you can find the guide here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uOd ... 8edwoufdw1
If you're not up for dealing with this program, I can take care of it next week or so (my current week is fairly packed). Looking at your sprites, it looks like Step 5's optimisations don't quite work for what you're doing, so offsets need to be configured per frame (tanooki tail swipe sticks out as one of those cases where the hitbox starts further right). SMBX2 only uses powerup sheets 1-7 at the moment. And from a quick glance it looks like all frames are in the same position, which makes porting as easy as running through the sheet with the calibration tool!
Awesome sprites, by the way! A really well-done port that I forgot to point out as such earlier.

Thank you much appreciated! I'm afraid my hands are a bit full with other things right now so having a little bit of my work load would be great.

I'm terribly sorry but the sheet layouts are too inconvenient to work with. I won't continue work on the player configurations for SMBX2. If the hitbox was in the same spot on every frame, it would take a matter of minutes, but at the current rate it would take me days that I don't have, as the fast solution would be to manually realign all spritesheets.

I understand, I half expected something like this to happen. I can give it a shot later but I'm in my hometown until the 4th which is currently going through a major snow storm and power outage. The only reason I was able to send this message at all is because my dad got backup power generators working. I can return to work when I return to my apartment.

Hey yo I just thought I would pop in and say that the 2.0 version has been delayed until after the release of SMB1R for 1.4.5. Have a nice day!

as you can read above, it will most likely be scheduled after the release of his episode. At least he's moving along with it.

That is the plan.
Also expect the 1.2.1 update soon with the 38A version. This will just be a minor update and fix some of the swimming sprites offsets that make the player shake. As well as some optional scripts patch that give Link, Peach, and Toad a proper swimming animations.

I'm happy to say that I have returned to work on this and the next update will be finished sometime within the next coming weeks. Expect offsets to be fixed so characters don't jitter anymore, swimming animation script will be included which you will be able to toggle, as well as some minor sprite adjustments, and finally propeller Link will also finally have a proper propeller spinning around on the top of his head. The SMBX2 version is still a ways down the road, so I'm afraid a few you will still have to keep waiting.

Release 1.3 has been released! Swimming animation script for Peach, Toad, and Link is an optional patch! Don't forget to use SMBX magic patcher to apply to a level! https://wohlsoft.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=1723 If you are using an old version on a level just overwrite it!
