I played it. And I completed it. But it was very difficult. (Warning! Rage Quit!)

What is your ideal SMBX episode?

Pretty self explanatory. Personally, I'd go for something that has a good plot, maybe mixes in the villains into the plot in nontraditional ways, kinda like what Eri7 is up to.

Anyways, that's enough from me. How about you guys?

My ideal SMBX episode would be something like Ninja Gaiden.

A big hub episode with good plot, good music, and not too many custom graphics (levels are kind of vanilla)

Great examples are New Super Mario Galaxy X, SMBX Contest Greatest Hits (even though it doesn't really have a plot but it conveys the rest really well) and Rosalina's Satellite once it's out

I exactly, love episodes with lots of custom graphics, When there are not custom graphic the episode looks boring..

Added in 1 minute 10 seconds:
And also custom music as well.

It does, I just like when there's not an excessive quantity of custom stuff, or when everything is recolored to some of the main graphic styles

I like those episodes with lots of LunaLua and gimmicks, and I HATE most episodes because they don't use Viewport.lua, idk what is is, I just can't stand the camera and stuff!

A short episode with less than 20 levels, which makes interesting usage of its gimmicks. While story is not something I look for in SMBX episodes, if its well-executed, that's a huge plus too.

So this means the default zoom is too wide for you?

The episode would definitely have a custom version of SMBX and probably wouldn't be playable on the commonly available ones.

Of course, custom graphics and music, but maybe some original creations.

Yeah, maybe it just me being used to SMW. Well, I can just play any episode if I just add that.

My current project is my ideal episode :)

While I can go with the obvious and also state that my project is my ideal episode, I want to explain what criteria a project/episode has to meet to be something I truly consider ideal.
I believe every episode needs to have good, engaging, fun and interesting gameplay but what makes an episode special for me is when it goes beyond my expectations and that is when an episode uses it's story to its advantage. I love deep stories that have a lot of thought put into them but at the same time, are easily digestable for people and fun to enjoy. Character driven stories always end up being my favorite stories to enjoy because no matter what adventure the characters go on, they always remain interesting and continue to develop and evolve and I believe that an ideal episode for me will have both good gameplay and good story that captures me directly from the beginning and then keeps me excited through it's characters and execution of both characters and story. I also love learning little details about my favorite characters or exploring the lore.

My personal ideal would be around the same length and difficulty as SMW, with creative and unique level design. I don't overly care about graphics and care even less about story.

I haven't seen any of the YouTube videos of the Wario apparition in Super Mario 64. But I can tell ya one thing, it's kind of scary imo if you see that as a young child back in the 1990's
