Any way to make a waterfall push you down?

Hey guys! I was wondering if there was anyway to make a waterfall push you down faster than normal water does? (Well normal water doesn't really have much resistance, but you get the idea.) I was hoping to give a waterfall a lot of resistance to being climbed.

I don't know if this would work or not, I haven't tried it myself but I've always wondered about it. You could place a water block and then a quicksand block over it. Not sure if this works, it probably doesn't, but it's still an idea.

Or just quicksand.

It doesn't add the water effect I think he desires.

I'm spawning a waterfall from a pool of water, but I'm trying to make it impossible to swim back up in some places.

Unfortunately, I don't think one-way passageways are possible aside from going upwards. You could hide an axe (that makes invisible blocks appear) or something but it'd be permanent, probably not what you're looking for.

Maybe something like spawning a invisible Platform NPC from the top that goes down with a generator but no idea how that will works. SMB Platforms goes only up or down so you can use it to push the player down by standing on one of them but no idea if that really works because if you instantly stand one while being underwater and by glitching causes by going underneeth the blocks with a moving NPC...

One thing you can try is putting both a water box and a quicksand box over each waterfall, but the quicksand part's on its own layer. You could set up events that make the quicksand active for 0.1 seconds, inactive for 0.3 or so, then repeat. I tried that and while it doesn't do much to push you down, it does make swimming upwards more difficult without being as restrictive as quicksand on its own.
