Ooh fancy. Vanilla-style hacks are definitely my favorite kind (I know this has a couple of patches but it's pretty vanilla-seeming). I hope to see more soon.

Yeah, this hack will be mostly Vanilla, only things non-Vanilla is some custom sprites (Hammer Bros., Fire Bros., etc.) and the patches.

I would recommend adding scenery/decoration, and perhaps some pipes that are either empty or have Piranha Plants in them, but otherwise, keep it up.

Naaaaaah, man, those dirt formations are awesome in my opinion. It's a great use of the vanilla tilesets.

the dirt formations actually aren't crazy, it's way of using logic to show the ground connects to each other

i don't like seeing ground floating

it dun make sense D:

The ground is colored to look like shit and there's not much going on except carahzy ground placement.

Maybe if this was made in 2000 you'd get away with it, but I tried doing something like back in...2004? 2005? Somewhere around there. I showed it to a group of romhack connoisseurs. They booed me out of the forum.

that's because mario is in Shit Land

it's dark out. therefore ground is darker, i guess that can make the dirt look like shit but w/e

I don't think white clouds compliments being dark.

You're just being really bad with colors. No palette in these screens is meshing well.
