Would Anybody Be Interested in a Super Mario World Remake for SMBX?

I'm considering remaking Super Mario World for SMBX.
It seems a lot easier and simpler than when I remade SMB2.
A lot of SMW assets are already built into SMBX, so this could be a breeze despite a few hiccups.

I honestly wouldn't be that intrested. I rather would like to see a never rebuild Game like a popular 2D Mario Hack.

Suggestions:
Brutal Mario (SMW Hack)
Super Mario Endless Earth (NSMBDS Hack)

For the first one I could help you since I'm ripping Textures from this hack for my GFX Pack anyway.

If I have Super Mario World on my Nintendo Switch why would I waste my time playing it on an inferior engine with worse physics and spawn rules?

I'd be interested for sure. Not sure I buy the "why do a remake when you can play the original" logic. The perks of an SMBX version (co-op multiplayer, mario challenge integration, etc. etc.) aren't available on the originals.

Nah, I'd just play it on my Switch or SNES Classic. If you do remake it it'd be in your best interest to mix it up in a way that makes the gameplay significantly different so it's worth playing.

"Super Mario World Remake" sounds a little bit too vague

I agree 100% and I thought return to dinosaur island was similar to smw?

Why not try something new? You can do something similar but with a new map and more levels. Smb1, smb2, smb3 and smw remakes have been done already I think.

I don't think there is a point to an SMW remake.
Something like Valtteri's "Return to Dinosaurland" is fine in my opinion but I think that some originality would be preferable than a port.
And, SMW's levels were designed in SMW's physics in mind, which differ from SMBX's.

Wait, on how many consoles is SMW even playable? (guess it's nonsignificant that Wiki only lists SNES and Virtual Console?)

either way there could be still people who don't own any console at all, such as myself

SNES, Wii, Wii U, New 3DS and Switch (so at least 5).

Of course, we already have SMB1 Remake, SMB2 Remake, SMB3 Remastered, NSMBDS Remake.
Why not make 5 in total?

This is a dream come true. Yes we all beat it a million times but but.....CO OP MODE!! love to see this get done. The snes hack for multiplayer rom is ass luigi cant stand on moving platforms but take what you can get I guess. But if you make this no dumb glitches like that will happen.CO OP Mario games is a totally different exp! I hope you get this asap because im sure we all thought about making this one at least once. Kudos to this guy. Maybe for the secret location give more 1ups just to save us all from grinding lives and possibly crash the program idk your call on that stuff. Id play it either way you make it. Remember tho it's ok if its not perfect.

Honestly I think an entirely new episode that uses Dinosaur Land as a setting could work. Maybe have it be redesigned to make it feel new like adding some new worlds like how Valterri added Ice Cream Island in Return to Dinosaur Land.
Why not also do a different world order too? Like for example you could have some influence taken from Donkey Kong Country 2&3 in for some world themes

Like for example: Bowser has completely changed Dinosaur Land in an attempt to take it over

World 1: Donut Plains/Yoshi’s Island (Lake/Plains)

World 2: Chocolate Island (Desert)

World 3: Forest of Illusion (Forest)

World 4: Ice Cream Island (Snow)

World 5: Soda Lake (Beach)

World 6: Cookie Mountain (Mountain/Beehive)

World 7: Vanilla Peaks (Mountain/Sky)

World 8: Vanilla Dome (Cave/Factory/Treetops)

World 9: Valley of Bowser (Lava/Ghost)

World 10: Star Road/Special World (Special)

I’m just saying that since many could easily play Super Mario World on other platforms and reusing Dinosaur Land for a new episode has a lot more potential than remaking Super Mario World in another engine.

If there's anything that you can do in SMW but not in the existing remakes, then it might still be worth a try.

I remember your remake of SMB, I totally love it!! ^w^. I still didn't play your remake of SMB2 (I don't play SMBX since a year ago) but I'm sure that it's also great. So it would be pretty awesome to see a remake of SMW UwU

Yeah, I'm with the rest of them, with the release of the SNES Nintendo Switch Online thing, what would be the point of remaking SMBW? same goes for SMB, SMB2, SMB:TLL and SMB3.

Also, I'm back from death.
