I don't know what fucking moron designed this site but I'm getting real sick & fucking tired of getting logged off for no apparent reason! I used that PoS search bar & finally got a result that had a link that brings me to the topic I was looking for, and what happens when it takes me there? I'm logged off! So I try to log back in. What happens after that? I get taken back to the main page! Had to hit the back button a few times to get back on to the topic. I copied the URL, repeated the process of logging in, then paste the URL into the address, AND I'M LOGGED OUT AGAIN!!! GOD DAMN THIS SITE!!! Why wasn't this fixed yet?

The site is not at fault. I don't get this at home, but I got it at uni, where I opted to tick the "remember me" option that solved the issue.
The problem comes down to dynamic IPs set by your Internet Service Provider. They trigger the phpbb's security measures.

So there's nothing I can do to stop it?

This also happens if you use a link that takes you to a version of the site that isn't secure. If that happens, then the url will start with http. Changing it to https should solve the issue.

This would need to be done every time you try to quickly access the site through autocomplete.

btw 508 errors are also coming back; lots of bots online

I guess whatever caused the anomalies should be resolved now, I'm automatically logged in on the board index as usual

It just kicked me out of my session. I didn't even leave the SMBX forum!

As I said in other thread, strangely I get logged out automatically when I go to old threads in the Graphics forum

That's different. I'm used to getting logged out whenever I close the window or wait an hour before returning, though I usually enter the direct link to the forum. This time I went to the main homepage, then to the forum, and I'm still logged in even though my last visit was the day before.

But maybe that was just luck. I also looked back and it sounds like the opposite of what has happened to at least one user before (I see the old post by Cedur, but that couldn't have been the only one).

EDIT: I took the direct link to the forum this time, and it kicked me out again like usual.

EDIT #2: I went to the homepage again, then to the forum again, and I'm still logged in.

EDIT #3: At least the "508 error" isn't logging me out.
