Hey just for my own safety any future 38A remasters from me won't have any YouTube videos. I haven't gotten any DMCAs (yet) but YouTube really scares the crap out of me with this stuff. This means SMB1:R isn't going anywhere or my YouTube channel. SMB1:R is still getting released as planned. Original SMBX episodes, scripts and graphics still will have videos. This also means there will be no more videos of of SMB1:R. You can still expect me to talk about and showcase it on the forums and Discord.
Also I'll finally be getting out of my cast 3 days from now and return to work as normal.

I'm sorry for your accident, but glad you're fine now. I'm still looking forward to this episode
I might also release my first episode around that date lol

Alright I just thought I would pop in with another update and say that you can now download the player sprites I'm using in this episode here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24978. In addition you can expect the battle levels returning from Super Mario Bros. Deluxe to release on Christmas Eve.

This looks really interesting! I'm hyped, can't wait to see the finished Episode. Also get better with your left arm!

Thank you! However my arm cast got removed on the 6th so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Hey just thought I would pop in with yet another update. As the days pass the odds of releasing of February 21st are looking more and more slim. It's not impossible but in case I do not make the deadline I am hoping to release a demo of worlds 1-4 and the battle levels for your patience. If I fail this deadline I will not be setting myself another, I just end up disappointing my followers and myself.
In other news Peach's castle is approaching completion. Where you will be able to change options, view your red coin totals, enable/disable/use your unlocks, and view the start and end cutscenes. Below is a preview of the item unlocks room. If you find this makes things too easy you can disable unlockables entirely.
As well as a sneak peek of 5-3.

Golden rule for smbx projects: Never announce a deadline. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah no kidding, I am afraid I am going to have to delay yet again. I'm hoping to release the 2nd demo around that time.

So I have been thinking maybe after I finish this project I may add The Lost Levels: Remastered as a sort of add on to this. Think of it as like 2 in 1 episode type deal.

The ideia of "easter-eggs" found in each of the levels got me. I love playing the snes version of this game and exploring It more than the original really makes me excited. I expect extra levels so we can extend the gameplay even further.
I really hope to play this soon, good luck with your project.
EDIT: I would suggest to change the difficult more, as it seems easy to obtain the star coins. Placing them in Cliff, creating "mini puzzles", hidding them in a specific spot may be a good Idea, its pretty frustating to have everything at your hand without a little effort. Also id like to suggest an harder mode with better difficulty, with more variety of enemies and extended levels and even maybe an special world, but thats just me, its a remaster after all.

That's essentially what I may end up doing. Something like you would head back to Peach's castle at the starting point and can change what game you are playing.

Well to start off, I do plan on making the Red Coins more difficult as the game progresses. The current locations of the Red Coins in the GIFs and videos don't necessarily reflect their current locations. Regarding a hard mode it will be the same hard mode returning from the NES and SNES versions. I don't plan on extending levels, however it is possible that I may add a bonus world.

The OP has been overhauled to properly reflect the current status of the project. This isn't Super Mario Bros. Remastered anymore. No, this is the Super Mario Origins Duology. A SMBX 38A episode that combines both SMB1 and SMBTLL into a single episode. You will be able to go to Peach's castle at the start of the game and change change what game you are playing. Expect TLL screens and GIFs soon!

Due to my own safety I have removed all videos of the Origins Duology from YouTube and have been re-uploaded on the 38A discord. All future SMOD will be uploaded there from here on out. You can still expect SMB1 *related* videos like script and graphic videos to still be uploaded though. Expect more updates very soon, I've got some surprises in store! Say how would you all feel about a SMB2 type graphics pack for SMOD after it is released?

Getting a little too much attention from Nintendo and getting issued a take down.

If it’s a bland remake on their original stuff most likely, but I doubt they do it on Smbx Episodes that have their own made levels.
I mean Mario Multiverse Videos aren’t being taken down also.
But I can understand it, it’s better to be safe.
