(Request) Ground pound

(Some) Mario games have a move where you literally slam your bum into whatever (Also known as an ground pound) (http://mario.wikia.com/wiki/Ground_Pound_(move)) and this is usually what happens,
1. Mario/Luigi jumps or is airborne(but not riding anything, holding something, or swimming underwater
2.down button, M/L gets into pounding position
3. SLAM into the ground, unless you cancel it with the up button in the air (And breaks blocks that are fragile below him)
can anyone recreate it? (I'm using 2.0)

You forgot that the up button cancles the ground pound
