NoMoreStars' SMBX2pal Level Showcase

Here be the various levels SMBX levels that I've made! I mostly make SMW style levels that attempt to stay true to the original game including music using soundfonts from the SNES and the old-school resolution using the camera zoom feature. But why not just use SMW rom hacking tools you ask? Well I personally prefer to use the versatility of the SMBX we all know and love! Plus with Lua coding support the possibilities truly are endless! All levels here are exclusive to SMBX2pal for now.
Please feel free to leave feedback and enjoy! :)
Clear Pipe Hills
When I saw that beta 4 or SMBX2 was approaching, what with the release of SMBX2pal all, my old passion for SMBX was revived. I have a long personal history with SMBX going all the way back to the 1.3 days, but this is my first time uploading a proper level to the forums (definitely NOT the first level I every made). Since then my eye for level design has gotten a little bit better over the years... or so I hope!
Anyway, this is just a short, mostly vanilla level that I used to re-familiarize myself with the basics of SMBX as well as trying out some new features like clear pipes and some basic lua functionality. I tried to make it seem like something you would play on the original Super Mario World, hence the zoomed in camera which I had to take into account for when designing. Well that's enough rambling for me. Check out the screenshots below if your interested and make sure to leave feedback. Thanks!

Oh boy, another level in the SMW style! However this time with a bit of my own Lua code under the hood. It may be a bit clunky, but it was a good exercise especially since I'm getting back into coding in college classes.
Anyway, this is intended to be a sort of "athletic" (or sky I guess?) style level. The kind with lots of open pits and whatnot. I've noticed that Fuzzies behave sorta weirdly and they have a tendency to just... not spawn on occasion. Good news is that they aren't required to beat the level or access any secrets. Anyways feedback is always appreciated as usual and enjoy the level!

This was a really nice level, I also liked how the screen was zoomed in like the original smw. But the amount of lava lotus could have been reduced imo.

Thanks for the feedback! I will admit that I did go a little crazy on the lava lotus lol. I guess I still have to work to overcome my tendency to place enemies just for the sake of having them.

I reckon there could have been a better way to offer challenge rather than the volcano lotuses, such as perhaps strategic chargin chuck placement.
Overall, it was a fun level, the zoom in made it feel more SMW like, but I think it may have been a bit too much zoom in.
I liked the addition of extra challenges like going after the 1-up at the start of the level. Well done.

Yeah, I admit I didn't put a lot of thought into the level and it was more just me playing around with some of the new features and getting a feel for the PGE editor. The Chargin' Chuck's were mostly an afterthought which is especially noticeable with the one right by the exit. I did notice however after replaying it myself that the zoom was a little extreme. I've already addressed that in the new level I'm working on. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Understood. Sorry about that. I'll format the post on the top of the thread later.
