i have been trying to get my maps playable but the posts that are telling me what to do are not making sense. what does "make a folder with your episode name" mean? how do you do it! plz give me a guide on how to make a working map for dummies that is detailed so i can understand (i basically want you to just tell me in a way like how to make a folder and then i'm basically solid(right?))

Make a folder in Worlds, give it whatever name you want (of course preferably the name of your episode but the editor won't care).
Make a world map and specify the episode's name (this is the name that appears in-game) and starting level (even for a hub episode you need an empty world map).
Put your levels and custom assets (such as episode-wide used custom graphics, musics, ...) in the world folder.

At least that's my level of knowledge.

click the new folder option
name the folder to what you want

i also realized i am on windows 7 home premium
i always get them mixed up

The way to make a folder on windows hasn't changed in decades, so the windows 8 guide I linked above will work regardless of your windows version.

i just changed the original episodes to what i want my episode to be.

Why? It really can't be so hard to make a new folder.. also a little tip if you want to use Custom Graphics. Make sure that
none of your Folder Names contains a dot.

i'm stupid. that's why it's hard. also i did get a folder in the "worlds" file but it would not come in the game ;-; it was in the file titled "worlds"

So what, you know to copy-paste and move stuff and to rename a folder but not how to make a new folder?

It's always the same

Right-click on empty space --> "New" --> "Folder"

If Windows 8 is really so dumb to not let you make a folder like that then I don't know. You should upgrade to Windows 10 anyway because Windows 8 is no longer supported after 2019. Did you really check all options? If context menu doesn't work, isn't there a way through the menu bar?

Anyway this has nothing to do with SMBX. Ask your parents or friends or Google etc. Me and others have already been patient enough trying to help you.

You right click on the blank space in the folder, select "New" from the options, and then hit "Folder". This method of creating folders has existed as far back as Windows 95.
