(Request) Preventing the player from losing their power-up.

Hello.
I'm currently in the process of making a Metroid-styled game with the SMBX 2.0 Engine. My levels are designed around the usage of abilities, like any traditionnal Metroid games, but if the player gets hit during sections that require specific power-ups, they would find theirselves unable to progress.
Could anyone make me some kind of Lua code that keeps the Player's current power-up even when they take damage or die?
