Super Mario Bros Special Redux

Hey guys. It's me UGM, or PrinceApple. Whichever you prefer. This episode is a remake of Super Mario Bros. Special, pretty much 1:1 save for a few item placements (because I thought some were so stupid I had to change them) bgo placements, and stuff like that. I hope to god it's better than the original Sharp X1 and NEC-PC8801 versions. Don't worry, this version has good scrolling unlike the 1986 original.

I'm basically remaking this game for experience with original concepts and designing my own levels. It will feature 9 worlds. 8 of which, were in the original game. The 9th world will be a world compromised of 4 levels using designs and tropes I learned while remaking these levels.

I had to make up my own story to go with the game, as the original certainly didn't have that much of it to begin with.

After the events of the Lost Levels, Mario/Luigi finally saves Princess Peach... Or so he thinks for about 20 seconds.
Upon talking with Peach for.. like, 3 seconds.. The two hear a roar from the other room. Mario/Luigi turns around
to discover Bowser, living, breathing, and walking. Bowser tosses Mario/Luigi out of the castle, and Mario/Luigi finds that
all the doors are locked. Looks like he'll have to find another way to get to Bowser.

After venturing in the many lands of the Mushroom Kingdom, the princess tells Mario/Luigi that Wario has stolen all
of her gold while she was kidnapped! Mario/Luigi then ventures into Sarasaland (W9) to come face to face with the yellow-clad
plumber and give him a piece of their mind.

That is in the original game. If you walk past the goal you can actually find a hidden 1-up and powerup there.

It's being made in 2.0 PAL but I probably won't release until Beta 4 is out because, you know.

Not sure. I'm probably gonna release it in PAL and do some touch-ups if it doesn't work in beta 4, since it's pretty close to release. World 7 is gonna be a bruh moment to make because it's just enemy spam for 3 levels then a pipe maze for a castle.

I also added some new elements to the story and added things that specify which worlds have their map completed.

I do know that. I see no problem with releasing an episode in PAL.

the problem may not be on your end only, many people report that they can't even open the game (plus as said potential transferral issues between PAL and Beta4)

I'm just not gonna wait until 'it's done' which could be in 3 months, 8 months, 2 years, 8 years, 70 years, 2000 years. like, if they want us to wait however long you want us to wait, maybe give us concrete information? that'd be cool

You can't put a release date for an update if you don't know that release date.

It's most likely not too far away. You can release it in PAL first if you like, but don't be surprised about bug reports, and when Beta 4 comes out, you'd have to check everything again anyway
