My review is this:
Level 1: Not bad for a first level, rather short though, but I liked the enemy placement, yet I feel for such a short level a checkpoint wasn't necessary.
Level 2: Another short level, I thought there were a bit too many enemies, and I would have liked to maybe see a few coins here and there.
Level 3: I liked the platforming challenges with the bubbles and the piranha plants in the second section as well, but the level was quite flat and the enemies were rather easy to avoid, that is until the second section. I feel those were harder to avoid because you strategically placed piranha plants to cover the player's jumps.
Level 4: One of the better levels in my opinion, I liked the coin and enemy placement and the mushrooms liked cool with their colorful stalks too.
Level 5: I personally thought the level was alright by itself. I do think you should have sticked with less enemies in that level, and the random podoboo in the lava at the end felt unnecessary.
Level 6: A basic water level, but for a first episode I thought it was quite good with mostly fair challenges. There could have been a bit less fish though and challenge could have been made with other things, like low roofs and piranha plants for example.
Level 7: Quite easy and short, but I liked the use of custom graphics. Enemy placement was alright, but not too much to comment on.
Level 8: I liked everything except the row of venus firetraps. It felt spammy with all of them at once, but the koopas and the other plants in the level felt fair.
Level 9: Finally, we've reached the last level. First off, I don't understand why a leaf was given AFTER you cross the first lava pit, to cross the next. I felt like It was a weird decision. The rest of the level felt a bit repetitive, but I liked how you tried to use a more limited group of enemies spaced around the level. The final battle was a simple bowser fight, but not too much to comment on there.
Overall, I thought it was quite a nice first episode. You should be proud! I do think that the things I mentioned could be improved on for the future, but well done!
