Why do some of the users (most noticeably FireyPaperMario use coloured text? It can be very hard to read

In the case of FPP it's a personal habit that you can consider a lil bit quirky indeed. I already asked him to avoid loud colors. Use the report button or talk to staff if you're annoyed of colors in a post

I guess this topic is a sign for me to use LESS of color text.

As Cedur said, it's just a personal preference that shows quirks. But people can also use it to highlight certain things, for example, if they were to specify what version of SMBX their recently uploaded level was in, they might colour it red or something noticeable to draw attention to it.

If I have to be honest, the only serious color usages I can come up with are contest announcements, staff change announcements and Mafia

It's not to much of a problem, as long as it isn't overdone

The only people I've seen using couloured text unironically are Vinyl and FPM, as well as the occasional new member. Other than that, they're mostly used for shitposting, kinda like Emotes.

Yeah Vinyl always posted in green. At least it was readable.

I think it's a bit immature in some way sometimes imo. It really depends on how person uses it and when though. Overall it's alright and acceptable.

You only really use it when you say things like SMBX or any other game, and it looks nice, but overuse is the only problem. I think it's fine, as long as it isn't neon colors. they burn your eyes out trying to read

Color text annoys people?

I think we are going a little too far on this one, let's stop before someone gets hurt (because that always seems to happen with stuff like this).

Anyways, I am not using colored text anymore in regular posts, I'll admit that I thought it would be a nice change but it turns out it really isn't. I don't know what was getting into me.

I legit feel tempted to use it just to be annoying lmao
then again i would probably want one that hurts the eye like this nice epic color

Why do you take everything so serious on a Mario Forum?

Personally, I love it when s/he posts in color. I forgot the reason I stopped typing all of my posts on this forum in #008000.

I believe that as long as the color is readable, (Not bright colors or neon) then it should be allowed.
