Your childhood games

Postby KBorg64 » Wed May 01, 2019 12:05 am

Just a fun topic here. Reminisce on games you played as a child. It doesn't have to necessarily be video games, just any form of game, really. Talk about games you're proudly fond of, or games you vaguely remember. I'll start!

Some of my childhood games are my favorite of all-time! Three games I thoroughly played as a kid were Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64, and Super Smash Bros. All 3 are iconic and spectacular games! I still have my copy of SMA4: SMB3 with me, however, I no longer own my cartridges of SM64 or SSB. Still, I am fond of these games and share many memories with these them!

My life hasn't changed that much since my childhood, I can say I still enjoy all the things I did (yeah that's really special lol)

I have an unofficial 8-bit console which has survived through the years so I enjoyed SMB, Duck Hunt, Track & Field and Galaxian in my childhood. Also, many years ago, every afternoon I sit down in my computer to look for internet minigames about my favorite franchises.

Aside of video games, nearly everyday I get out to play with my neighbours (specially in holidays), things like table games, sports, video games (sometimes), and if there's enough people, we even reach to play hide and seek lol in an insane way though... And in Carnival there's always a water war and at least 1 glass gets broken lol

New Super Mario Bros. DS and New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Spiderman on the PS2.
And the Lego Star Wars games.
I used to play those games all the time, those were the days when I'd get up early just to play them, and then head off to school.

I can fix that!

Me and my family would, on occasion, play a board game called Aggravation. To start, you would need to roll a 1 or 6 to remove 1 of your 4 marbles from your "base" and place them on their starting point. Different sections of the board belonged to specific marbles, with their own starts. You would then need to go around the entire board back to your marbles' section, and place all of them in the 4 goal points. Last points in each colored section can move you to the middle, where you would then roll and get to bypass all other sections and moved back to your marbles' section. You must land exactly on the bypass points to use. I always enjoyed the game, and I still own mine.

That was a great part of my childhood, back in 2012/13/14 I used to do that a lot with my neighbors every afternoon, and I can say I still do but now there's different people so you made me remind even more of those times and now I'm pretty nostalgic. Good times...

Some of my first games were the "edutainment" games like the ones for the V-Smile (no one knows that that is probably), but my first actual games were probably something along the lines of Mario or Pokemon, maybe even Sonic. The games that made up most of my childhood, however, were Mario (I think that made up pretty much the entire bulk, if not then at least a good amount of it), along with Coolmath and other flash games.

I actually had a V-Smile as well, it was the first console I got. My first two games were "Mickey's Magical Adventure" and "Ratatouille: Remy's New Recipes", if I remember correctly. But the first Nintendo system I had was a red DS with Mario Kart DS.

One obscure N64 game I had was Chameleon Twist 2. I did not have it when I was really young, however. My dad bought it used at a game store (can't remember where) when I was about 10 or so. I never beat it, and couldn't save because I didn't have one of those game pack things. My favorite thing about that game would be its music, it's fantastic! Anybody know about or have played this game before? The first or the second one?
