I think one of the most important things now is to market Beta 4 properly. "Beta" sounds like something unfinished to the public, but if you can create episodes and levels with it without having to worry if they'll get broken later on, I think it should get a more attractive label. This is a big opportunity to get more people into SMBX, since the content itself looks amazing.
Can we market it without offending Nintendo?
Pretty sure Reign means that beta 4 should be titled in such a way that it does not turn off people by being a beta (which looks to be achieved by naming it β4 instead)

Fan projects are always going to be frowned upon because of the invalid fear of lost profits. (they know this is inherently false proven time and again)
Anyway, β4 works just fine, though there are those who know that β is Beta in Greek...lolz

What do you mean by offending Nintendo?
Nintendo doesn't seem to bother with smbx so much anymore, it's good that smbx is more open to people to use it.
Unlike another Mario editor called Multiverse which is in closed source for years.

I'd be okay with changing the Beta to β but yeah that's still what it is, a beta. There will be even more upcoming builds as we know.
If there's any crucial point to bring lots of new members in, it would be the final release imo.

btw I figured out myself how to reset the score counter when desired, just by deleting the respective progress files

Essentially Mario Maker but with more game styles, and it's not that good in some areas.

Mario Maker has A lot to offer but until they add world maps and the ability to make actuall episodes and adventures they will always be a step behind smbx. Plus they need more enemies.
This is why smbx wins for me. Plus it's on a PC where MM sequels changes from one gaming device to another thus you have to spend more money on it. PC wins every time.
Only reason I would by a gaming system is for Skyrim and I have a PS3 just for that game.

Kind of an odd comparison. SMBX will always be infront of Marios Maker as long as you can't:
- Create your own Playable Characters
- Create your own Villains and Enemies
- Use any song you want (or atleast any song without lyrics and/or from a movie)
- Code Stuff yourself or download coded Stuff
- Create World Maps/Menus/Launcher Pages
- Have 16 Characters+ to choose from
and more

Knowing very little about Mario Maker, I can only take your word on it...
(no Nintendo console experience past Wii and DS)

I'm a bit concerned by the lvlx bug being found so close to release. Or maybe it's already fixed, or I'm just doing something wrong?
Also not sure if that other bug I reported is fixed (with UB and the clear pipes) as it's not marked as such in the spreadsheet...

The lvlx bug? Do you mean the one you posted on the previous page? We couldn't replicate that, so it's probably a you-issue or has been internally fixed for a long time.

I'm using the MAGLX3 version, not the PAL version, so could it be that?

Why are you using the version that has been deprecated by the PAL version?

I'm sorry for digging into the same complaint topic about playing SMBX2 with a controller, but I recently tried playing it again, but with the Joy2Key.exe profile name, "Super Mario Bros. X2 - (2.0.0 PAL)", and still no input from that controller I used. Just tell me what I did wrong!
In case y'all were wondering, I'm using the PAL version of
SMBX 2.0
(Edit): as I was told on Discord, it seems that
SMBX2.0 was NEVER controller-friendly in the first place. So sorry for wasting your time

Just couldn't be bothered to switch at the time, a lot of it due to the fact my antivirus is really overzealous with any executable that's not either part of Windows or downloaded from a digital distribution service...
