I'm using the most recent beta (As of February 28th, 2019) of SMBX 2, and made a level in it just to test it out. About 5 minutes ago, I reloaded it in the same version but got this error.
"Bad file format
File: C:/Users/Jacob/Desktop/SMBX 2/data/worlds/worldname/level.lvl
Sectio [] is not closed
Line Number: 0"
I put "worldname" and "level.lvl" because I get this error whenever I load any world or level no matter what. Any ideas?

Can you put the contents of the lvl file on pastebin and post a link to that here?

I've seen this issue happen recently and I believe it involves shutting down/unplugging/restarting your computer with the level editor open which causes the file to be corrupted (however it could have resulted from something different)

You mean like if I open it as a .txt or something like that?

Yes. Open it in Notepad, Notepad++, etc. and copy it to pastebin, then copy the link to the upload here

When I do that it is blank, but it says that the .lvl is 76 KB.
Also sorry for quoting multiple of your comments at once.

What do you mean exactly?
Also there's nothing wrong with quoting like that

Usually if something has data in it (as you know) and you open it in a text program there should be text as far as I know. The .lvl says it has 76kb of data, but it doesn't show anything when I open it in Notepad++.

Have you tried with other text editor?

How would that yield any different results? The level isn't gonna be corrupted differently depending on what program you view it through. PixelPest probably responded with the cause immediately.

Next time you save a level in the editor, double-check the filesize and contents of the level file after it was saved.
