I'm planning on getting Pokémon Sword, as long as I can transfer my Pokémon teams from Yellow (3DS VC), Gold & Silver* (3DS VC)), and Moon (3DS) using Pokébank**. Otherwise, I'm not gonna bother!
*And maybe Crystal….
**I hoped there's a update for Pokébank which allows it!

Wow you're asking a lot from Nintendo
I wonder what the legendary pokémon of these to games are. Like I have to think about Aegislash but that is not a legendary. Defining a legendary used to be much simpler before the coming of Solgaleo and Lunal(u)a as the first legitimate evolution legendaries

It's just because I really
WANTED to use my old 3DS Pokémon team members in the new games.

It would become much more realistic if pokemon Bank came to the switch. Then alongside its release would come an update for 3DS pokemon Bank and the two could be linked to one another.

Good thinking! I do hope that happens

The names themselves don't hype me as much as previous subtitles, and for some reason when naming these entries I think of the Sword and Shield dungeon from LoZ - OoS. Is it just me?
I've long stopped caring about Pókemon games ever since Pókemon Emerald and Fire Red. Those for me are the highlight of the franchise and anything that came after it is a cash grab. It may have something to do with the hype inside me dying with time, but that is truly what I think.

I haven't really liked the turn Pokémon took after BW so I definitely won't be partaking in Sword and Shield. I'm particularly not fond of the starters. Their designs are very similar, lackluster, and boring

Come to think of it... Yeah, the starters design doesn't really look that impressive imo. But at least they're better than Gen 4 starters imo

As probably one of the truest fans of the series, they haven't failed to surprise me yet again. At first glance, the starters weren't anything too special to me, but upon reevaluating them I found out that they really tug at me. However, the locations intrigued me the most, and it seems that the gyms are work different in my eyes, similar to the trials from the previous generation. From my understanding, it seems as if the "gyms" are going to be based around sports due to the fact that the player character had a uniform on when entering the grass-type one, and it looked a lot like a sports stadium.
Also, we might have gotten a hint at what one of the legendaries is gonna be based off of this image:
Either way, I'm excited.

Gen. 4 had the best starters imo

HOW DARE YOU! the Gen 4 starters are the
WORST starters, and here's 1 example why:
If you choose the
Water type starter, and teach it
Peck, the rival battles will be easy af. This sounds more
BROKEN than the rival battles in the first 3
Pokémon generations.

If you don't like the Gen 4 starters, that is completely fine, but Peck, a move with a power of 35 (doubled if you attack Infernape, of course) is bad and not nearly enough to break the rival battles, not to mention that Empoleon's 85 base attack is pretty mediocre to begin with.

Empoleon also gets Ice Beam coverage to just demolish torterra; an imbalance between starters doesn't mean that they're all bad. Design-wise I think these new gen 8 bastards are really good. Scorbunny looks like something out of gen 1 in the sense that it's really quite simple, Grookey is what Pansage should have been and all the introverts can relate to Sobble. They each have something unique going for them and I think that's cute.

I heard people were expecting an Australian region, but I personally like this new region. Also it's apparently the map of England flipped upside down.
Also if the champion of the Elite 4 is not the Queen I'm rioting.

I'm not talking about balance, I'm speaking to the physical appearance and how much I enjoyed playing them compared to other generations (particularly that I like playing any of them)

I guess everyone's entitled to their opinions on
Pokémon starters…. Can't make you change your mind.
