Joey can at least make reghrhre a IRC Operator so we have OPs there 24/7.

Harley comes online when all of the operators are offline, he's been banned before but he just keeps using proxies and servers to bypass said bans. This is why we require more operators.

Well, there is always the possibility of using a bot to control flooding and filter messages, right? It doesn't seem like there's too few ops, just too little enforcement; so I would agree with Raster that the ops should be stricter and the channel would be fine.

We had a bot once, but Pixels abused it and people got butthurt. I'm happy to bring Marcia back, and it looks like I might have to considering a good portion of the spam is people repeating stuff.

Please also note that operators don't sit at their computer screens staring at IRC all day. If you need their assistance, you have to ping them or they likely won't see it. If you're pinging them and not getting a response, well, that's a different issue.

I've never liked the idea of having a dedicated IRC operators group, but that might just be because it wasn't done well in the past. Our staff, in general, needs to come on IRC more - Quill and Valtteri are the only ones that are there every day. And most of us are in US/UK timezones so we won't be able to manage through the night. B and rails, on the off-chance they're active, might be able to provide some help.

We have people that are there on the night who can help out.... I am not sure it would that good bringing Marcia back as Quill used too ban the bot all the time.

The problem with the bot is the possibility of it getting abused, and it won't fix the Harley problem anyway.

I've seen people ping the operators before and they haven't responded, but the problem currently is people don't act up when there are operators online, but as soon as the operators go offline they throw some sort of party. Besides, nobody is complaining that the operators don't stare at IRC all day, they're complaining about the lack of operators when there is trouble, and in most cases this is when Quill, Valtteri, and you are not online.

I would strongly suggest hiring one or two IRC operators. Reghrhre was a great IRC operator and I would strongly suggest adding him back to the team as at least an operator, because he seems to be the only one people would actually trust that is online when trouble arises.

None of your moderators seem to go on IRC ever so you can't rely on them at all. Stop trying to deny it, you are in need of more operators, you should think about hiring some more really, really soon. Reghrhre is the perfect candidate, he covers the times that the other operators can't, which is a plus right there. He is reliable, and I haven't seen him pull anything stupid.

What you quoted is just a joke. It doesn't tell us anything about Valtteri's capability as an operator.

Joking around as an operator doesn't mean you can/have to abuse your powers by demoting, kicking, or banning another operator or user. It's not very professional and pretty childish.

He wouldn't deal with Harley because it's not his problem. He isn't technically associated with the channel in any way, so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't take action.

Nobody should rely on help from rails because he doesn't do anything regarding the channel. Maybe if something was directly affecting his network he would take action, but he doesn't seem to do anything that doesn't concern him. #smbx is irrelevant to rails, I doubt he cares about it much.

rails and B both have flags on the channel and have my explicit permission (if not already implied) that they can function as operators. They probably just don't know that and are following basic network operator protocol, which is good.

You're blatantly ignoring the need for more security on your channel, stop trying to avoid the truth. I would strongly suggest you enlist another operator to help out around IRC. I don't give a flying fuck about how busy you are, it shouldn't be that hard to set flags on somebody you truly trust for the job. Enough people have already voted for reghrhre as an operator, and he has the aptitude to do so.

Like reghrhre said, he doesn't even go by those nicks, and banning him is a useless maneuver because he uses proxies and servers regardless. Unless you enjoy receiving constant complaints regarding Harley, and I don't think you do, you should hire reghrhre or some other capable operator of taking care of the channel when no other operators are online. You can't rely on rails and B to babysit your channel when no other operators are online, because I still doubt they would take care of any trouble there. If you truly are too busy to take care of your forums/channel, give somebody else the luxury of doing it until you return so not everyone is relying on you to do things.

Granting a senior and trustworthy member of the community the permissions to operate an IRC channel is a very small, easy concession to grant I really don't see how it could cause any harm, especially if no one else is available around that time.

Yeah what Danny said much just because you said he is uncooperative for you and the rest which isn't true at all since most of the members here get pretty along with reghrhre. He disagreed with the staff? No wonder why he did the reasons sometimes you guys put up are nonsense.

BJ007PRO was banned after his constant shit but Harley flames, shits, makes stupid posts, harasses others and hasn't been banned yet. Users should be dealed like everyone and not have 1 million chances.
And his constant pony drama on the chat is annoying as shit and when say he should shutup he just does it more and so everyone has 2 deal with this. But alright if you want this community end with a ton of flamewars alright.

It is the job from you thinking about our ideas and stuff and not making excuses you never really listen 2 us. When Deadfish made the idea with Organizing this place pretty much people agreed with him and what happened.... nothing at all this is just like the Politic they say what they gonna do and never do it then.

Staff members aren't going to change anything at the request of ~4 people. That would be poor leadership.
