Custom block not working correctly?

I've been trying to make a jailbar-style graphic, but it doesn't seem to be working. The block appears with a yellow background when using it in the editor or gameplay testing, and black if it's colored black instead of being transparent. Here's the sprite and the mask:
I've looked at everything I could find, and none of it has worked. I've also done the regular block with a black background instead of a transparent one. Any solutions?

It doesn't replace any of the existing graphics? Which block is that sprite supposed to replace?

It's supposed to replace one of the SMB3 dungeon blocks. Which it does. My issue isn't that it doesn't appear; rather, it has a yellow background where the transparent parts should be, and a black background if it's colored black. I'll edit my post to clarify this.

I'm guessing you're using 1.3. You can't use semi-transparent images in 1.3, they don't work properly. You should probably switch to SMBX2 and use transparent .png files if you want a semi-transparent block.

Oh. Big sad. Thanks for the answer though!

Do note that, as I mentioned in my last post, SMBX2 doesn't have this restriction, and has full backwards compatibility with SMBX 1.3, so you can easily upgrade.

Oh. Does that mean I can just bring over all my world files and everything will work fine? Or are there some other things I’d need to do to bring over my data?

Just move the episode over to a SMBX2 installation and it'll work fine!
