Video games and the gamers that play them can be put into 3 categories.
- Casual: You like to play games because they're fun and entertaining.
- Adventurer: You like to have adventures, exploring a world, or feel like the world revolves around you. Ex. Zelda, Skyrim, etc.
- Completionist: You want to 100% the game, you want to collect every last coin, object, item, everything!
I'm a Casual/Adventurer type, I like to look for hidden things, explore here, there, and mostly I like to play games just for the fun of it.
So, which type are you? Are you one of the many that play casually or are you mixed and do a little bit of everything?

I'd say I'm a mix between Adventurer and Completionist, it depends on the game and if I'm interested enough in it though, if I'm interested enough then my Completionist side will activate : P. I'm not interested in those games where there's a million (side) quests or where you have to travel around a billion places though so there's my limits for adventure games, I like simple games really.

Completionist, as it legitimately bothers me if I can't complete a certain task in a game. Although I'm also somewhat casual, as I want a nice and easy experience sometimes.

I'm also the completionist type. For me the incentive in a game is to really collect and fulfill all tasks possible, that's what is fun for me and what keeps me playing.

I too, am all of the above. Why? Because I like to play fun adventure games, whilst going for 100%. And as we all know, if you haven't collected a level's DK Coin, you haven't truly finished it! That being said, some games take the collecting idea too far. (Spiderman 2, I'm pretty sure Grand Theft Auto, etc., but not Donkey Kong 64. It's collectibles feel correctly placed.)

I get being a completionist, but Adventurer and Casual seem best to describe me because I enjoy playing over achievement. Then again, if I really love a game, I can be a completionist. I remember grinding end game enemies in M&L PiT just to max out all the levels.

Completionist. I never play an SMBX level these days without getting every single coin I can find… Dragon Coins are good. Oh yeah, and I never go to the next level/galaxy in real Mario games without getting all the star coins/stars. It's an obsession, I swear. In Pokémon, I never leave the current route I'm exploring until I catch every Pokémon that can be captured there. It just doesn't feel right.
I used to be more of an adventurer type before I started getting more "serious" about gaming. Back when I was 8, I could spend hours and hours exploring the levels of Super Mario Sunshine… Those were the days.

Adventurer/completionist; it depends on the game. I've fully completed SMG2 and NSMBWii. In a game like Skyrim, I'm not really going to try to complete every single quest.

I'm a casual gamer. I just want a good time.
But then, if I'm playing Klonoa, it's a whole different story. I enter an exclusive category called "Lester Kilrock" that includes only me and is the synonym for "the best Klonoa player in the entire multiverse."

I rarely complete games more than once since I'll have sucked up the entire game into my mind after the playthrough and re-visiting already completed games is often boring. Except for Multiplayer games. These are always fun.
I can't assign my gaming behaviour to any of the 3 cathegories. Basically because I'm not all too familiar with them. Can anyone of you fit me into one of them?

I'd say I'm between Adventurer and Completionist, but it depends on my humor. I sometimes try very hard to 100% complete a game, and sometimes I just want to play it because of the plot, but I mostly stay on the Adventurer zone.

For all the people who say "i'm all the three"
how can you be a casual gamer and a completionist gamer at the same timeee
it makes no fucking sense

According to these definitions, your question is easy to answer.
elitalianoverde wrote:- Casual: You like to play games because they're fun and entertaining.
- Completionist: You want to 100% the game, you want to collect every last coin, object, item, everything!
Simply put, a casual completionist plays games to get 100% because they're entertaining.

This is a really questionable definition of casual gamer
If a casual gamer was someone who liked to play videogames because they're fun and entertaining, every gamer would be casual
A casual gamer is someone who plays videogames /ocassionally/ to do something when they don't have anything to do.

Right. If we follow elitalianoverde's definitions, everyone should at least vote Casual. Your casual gamer can become a completionist in time, if he or she plays enough for a long enough time. However, I'm sure you think a completionist is someone like the Achievement Hunter, which I agree casuals gamers are not. I'm not, at least.
