If you have been following the gaming industry news then you will probably aware that Bethesda seems to be in a lot of trouble.
It started with the release of this extremely buggy mess known as Fallout 76, which no one seems to like, and many are requesting refunds (made conveniently impossible by not releasing it to steam so that their refund policy can say that download = no refunds), with one person being promised a refund but then seeing the promise broken the next day, and there has been an attempt at a class action lawsuit.
However, this was only the start of thhe troubles, as the collectors edition promised a high quality canvas bag, only for those who ordered it to then recieve a bag you would put in the trash can. People were complaining, and requesting refunds, but Bethesda said that it was too expensive to make the canvas bags, so they replaced them with the nylon bags, told people it should not ruin their enjoyment and said tey would not do anything about until te backlash got so bad they had to buckle, and told people who ordered the collectors editoin to contact support with information so that they could recieve the canvas bags. So you could send a support ticket and you would be OK right? Well...
Turns out, people who sent tickets could see the support tickets from others, including those who also sent tickets to get replacement bags. So if a bad person happened to do this and see the support tickets, well if you sent a ticket, then you sent your name, address, telephone number, receipt and credit card details to them, and who knows what they could have done. Fortunately this has been fixed, and was probably a genuine mistake, but considering the other shit that also happened, and how serious this is, then this means fuck all, and does not change the fact that this has made personal information public which, if in the wrong hands, cold be used for malicious purposes.
So it seems a day can't go by without some complete fuck up coming from Bethesda, and I think Blizzard and Activision owe them something as their own fuck ups have become lost under the Falllout 76 Fiasco. Remember Diablo Immortal? You may have forgotten about that as a result of Bethesda's failures overshadowing it completely.
Wha are your thoughts on this. Is this the biggest fuck up in gaming in 2018? Maybe the biggest in history? What does Bethesda's future look like? Should they face a lawsuit?
