Perhaps the cause of the problem is not the big count of bots because it happened to me a few seconds ago and there's only a few guests

The problem is the limited amount of resources being used up. Bots constantly making requests will cause this. This has already been stated, and is being worked on.

Okay, thanks. I hope that will be fixed since it's annoying when I try a lot of times to perform an action because of that error.

And I also experienced "503 Server Unavailable" some hours ago. Well it's not that worrying, that happened to me just one time.

This problem hasn't occurred for months now. It was the result lots of bots visiting the site and making loads of requests, and was beyond the control of the staff.

I have not had any issues. For those that do I know it is not fun.

I check the site 2-3 times a week with no problems.

Currently it's not causing too much trouble though, last time we all got the error like 20 times a day

Surprised I still don't get an error as of now with over 1,000 accounts being online

I've been getting this issue since yesterday except it only happens on my phone. I never got this bug on my pc yet though.

Funnily it can also pop up when there's just about 100 accounts online.

Anyway retry and everything works immediately again

Same here, Every single thing I do here, gives me the Namecheap 508 Resource Limit Reached error, it's so annoying, I try to find a tileset, 508, I try to post something, BOOM 508 Resource Limit Reached, and it's annoying as hell!

Yesterday morning was the first time when there were so many accounts online that it really stopped my posting activities

This is happening to me too.

This is a site level problem. It's a large botnet and we're trying to do what we can to mitigate it until we can get a proper service to mitigate the issue.

Why is this an on and off thing? I've got it a load of times over the past few days but I haven't had it for ages before that.

It depends on the server this site is hosted on. If the bots are on the forum or elsewhere on the site and the CPU/RAM of the site is reaching its limits then that error will come up. It's a matter of blocking malicious bots, and efficiently serving the site so that resources are conserved for normal browsing. For now the botnet is coming and going, and can be present elsewhere on the site to still give the error even if few guests are on the forums. While a proper fix for this is being looked into, the priority has been to keep bots from registering and that has so far been successful despite numerous attempts.
