Review: A Golden Opportunity in the Spacious Dungeon
Overall Design/Gameplay: I'll agree with Ghosthawk in saying that this is sort of a weird level. I'm assuming you went with the cave theme to represent the spacious dungeon part. But, I don't know where the golden opportunity part occurs in the level. Other than that, it was short. In terms of graphics, I'd say they were okay. However, as Ghosthawk said, you shouldn't have made the water or enemies transparent. It makes it a bit more difficult to see the enemies, and it isn't necessarily visually appealing. Music choices were okay. In terms of difficulty, I'd say that this is slightly hard. There's no powerups, so you have to rely on not getting hurt. Enemy placement was alright. The boss could have been better and not just a Mother Clone dupe. Finally, in terms of level design, one or two areas seemed cramped, but otherwise, it was decent. Overall, it was an okay level.
Suggestions/Improvements: You need to make sure nothing is transparent; that way, the graphics won't be annoying to the player. Next, as Ghosthawk mentioned, you need to fix that cutoff you have with the lava. Third, you need to space out some areas more (particularly the bottom where you're getting the bottom-most coin). Fourth, I suggest to look for a better gimmick rather than collecting three coins. Fourth, include a powerup or two. Fifth, mix up the enemies to add more variety. Finally, you should make the boss battle more challenging by including other enemies.
Final Score: 6/10
Level Status: Pretty Good
