Postby Shadow40 » Fri Oct 19, 2018 5:03 pm

Good morning, a month ago I published a book that contains four original stories written by me.
Covers:

I leave the booktrailer here:

The book is available in English and Spanish. You can find it on Lulu.com and on Gumroad.com for 4 dollars.
These are the links:
English:
Lulu: http://www.lulu.com/shop/chadoumaru/wel ... 89367.html
Gumroad: https://gum.co/cfslx
Spanish:
Lulu: http://www.lulu.com/shop/chadoumaru/bie ... 89397.html
Gumroad: https://gum.co/TMEw

I hope you read and think about each story in this book.
PS: If you detect some grammatical errors in the English version, I am bad in this language and I had to use Google Translator to write it.

Eh I wouldn't make people pay $4.91 CAD for a piece of writing riddles with grammatical errors tbf but some of these look a bit interesting. It would be really great if you could maybe choose one that we could see for free, otherwise I highly doubt anyone would pay since no one really has any idea of your writing style and abilities, only a very vague plot description. Also $4.91 is a lot of money for an amateur 36 pages of short stories when I can go to the bookstore and buy a 400+ page novel for around the same amount

I agree with Pixelpest. These story concepts sound pretty interesting and could be well worth a read. £2.95 is a bit much for a book of 36 pages, though i don't know how high the quality of each story is. I would personally reduce the price down to £1.99, here's why:
1. A book published by an unknown author is usually not popular straight away and a high price / small page count could discourage customers to buy it.
2. You can always increase the price later on if you start to make a lot of sales and the book becomes popular. Starting with a high price (for such a small book) could be risky (you may not make any sales and thus, lose money).

With that said, don't let us discourage you from writing stories. If it's your passion to write, then it's up to you if you do that. These story concepts look promising, and i wish you the best of luck in the future.

I agreed with Pixel & Tay.

But if i would give you some advice on writing a book, i recommend just sharing your "Work in Process" stories with friends first

I appreciate your opinion. By the way, on the price I have lowered it, now it costs 2 dollars.

As I said before it would help if at least one was free because even to pay $1 I'd have to actually go through an online transaction

It is not a sword, that knife was used by the father of one of the protagonists of the third story. If you want to understand the reason why it appears on the cover, I would like you to read the book.

Honestly, maybe produce a story at a very low price, to encourage people to try and see what they think of it. From there you could get feedback and make improvements of things. That's just my idea anyway.

Nobody would ever spend money for such a short story, even for a dollar. In fact, what you did is a short online like many people does and make them avalible free.
You should just write and share your stories online for criticism. When you'll get good, only then you want to sell them.
