Best games (or other media) featuring the Koopalings

I've always found the Koopalings interesting (I personally prefer the name "Koopa Kids," but I guess that refers to other characters now). I recently regained interest in them after watching through the cartoons. I never knew they appeared in any games apart from Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and Mario Is Missing until a couple months ago (or that they appeared in comics apart from Super Mario Adventures). I was wondering, what do you think are the best games or media that feature the Koopalings? Feel free to include episodes/levels of Super Mario Bros. X or other fan work
I've also been thinking about buying games and maybe even comics with them. I recently bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and have been playing it quite a bit (despite its frustrations and less-than-perfect controls, I think it's a neat game, and I like the Koopaling battles). I've enjoyed Super Mario RPG and the first three Paper Mario games (I've never played Sticker Star or Color Splash, or any of the Mario & Luigi games). After learning about their appearance in a Paper Mario game, I've been tempted to buy a Wii U to play Color Splash and New Super Mario Bros. U (I've read the latter might be ported to Switch, but I'm not really interested in getting one at the moment -- the Wii is the most recent Nintendo system I own). Paper Jam seemed sort of intriguing, but I've always prefered consoles to handhelds. Do you think purchasing a Wii U at this point would be worthwhile for someone in my situation?
