Snowy White Night

Hey, guys! I've finally gotten into using SMBX again, so here you go, have a snow level. This level has 5 Dragon Coins in it. Whare are they, you ask? Well, that's up to you to find out!
Custom Graphics by: Miky Gargiulo, TryLouBliss, SilverDeoxys, It's-A-Me, Squishy Rex, and Legend-Tony. All Custom graphics used are from the CGFX Pack.

This level went by quickly, both through playing and the pages.

Visual Appeal
There wasn't much to look at in this level, but just enough to make it a satisfactory level to look at. The dirt tiles in the tileset are somewhat bland and the SMB3 hills with snow on them has 1x1 pixels that are actually very unnoticeable unless you stopped to look at them. The entire background of the level is BEAUTIFUL though and that's where the level shines graphically, but the foreground kinda drags it down quite a bit. By the way, are those FEZZES on the snow pokiis?!
At most places, the level feels a bit empty 6/10

Design
Every section is largely screening to the left with the exception of the last one, which is a slow ride on a platform up a hole with a lakitu throwing spinies at you until you reach the goal post. The way the pokiis are placed are rather odd, but I can see why because they're more than one block large, but then you should disable auto-align so it doesn't look so awkward when they're coming on-screen. The flat areas of the level are somewhat pretty hard, especially the moving platforms. Other than some large difficulty spikes in a few spots on the level, it's pretty easy. I suggest trying to keep it consistent the next time you make a level. The scenery is sub-par with the occasional snowy bush, but that's just about as much as seems necessary with the background taking all the visual movement.
Rather ordinary. 5.5/10

Gameplay
I had so many close calls, but half of them consistent of me making stupid mistakes and losing my mushroom, but gladly I didn't die. Enemy placement is for the most part pretty decent, since the difficulty spikes mostly were caused by the terrain. The hammer bros looked and were fitting and provided a little challenge every now and then in the level and were fun. But for the majority of the level, it was a replay of killing a few goombas and koopas, and that dulls down the fun in a level by quite a bit. I suggest maybe adding some bumpties, flurries, or any other snowy styled enemy that may fit the graphical style of the level as well as ridging up the terrain a bit to make it more challenging to kill or get past the enemies. The platform section has few platforms to JUST make it on to and that choice doesn't go well with less experienced people. The lakitu area would have been a lot nicer if it would have been executed a little bit better, maybe the platform starting on its own or getting rid of the koopa so it's a lot harder to kill and have it stay with the player right up to the end, because when I killed it, the rest of the level (which wasn't much, but it still matters) was completely empty▬no coins, no enemies.
Some parts were a lot better than others. 5/10

Music
I wouldn't be able to find music that fit better with this level. It fits greatly with a cheerful snowy mountainside at night and it even loops well, no trailing off or anything, which compensates with its shortness. It also goes well with the easy parts of the level.
8/10

Some parts of the level were great, while others were sub-par. 6/10

Actually, this level should be moved to Pretty Good, based on your scores. You gave scores based on Gameplay, Music, Visual Appeal and Design. Those aspects' sum should be 40.0, equivalent to a perfect score of 10.0/10.0 if we divide it by 4. After adding the scores of each and dividing by four we obtain 6.125. Technically, this level actually deserves to be on the Pretty Good section.

This is what happens when I do the math in my head. Thanks for the correction, Natsu.

Don't mention it. It's better to use a calculator when doing these kind of calculations, even more if it does involve non-integer numbers.
