55jedat555's Labyrinth of Levels (unfiltered, brutal, raw - science)

Hello there! I make levels, and sometimes I publish them as well! Go check 'em out sometime!

Menuet For Plumber And Horse (Science Contest 2023 submission(s))
A level trilogy exploring three different oddities in horse behaviour - a dance for two in three parts. I'm putting these here just to have all of my levels in one place, but be wary, as these are the original, brutal and merciless versions of my three SciCon submissions. If that intimidates you, try them out in the contest's episode instead - do not expect an easy time regardless.

The Die House (VC2022 26th place)
A relatively short (medium-length?) execution-oriented puzzle level (pun intended). Navigate 12 individual rooms + 3 optional puzzles that revolve around orchestrating your own demise. Contains a non-zero amount of glitch abuse; knowledge of which is required. This is just about as easy as it gets around these parts these days!

Multicultural Airport (VC2021 14th place):
A very long, very difficult, kaizo(-esque?) level. Features a section and boss for each one of the five legacy characters, themed around various flight abilities. 100% vanilla, no artificial sweeteners. This version of the level contains a few minor tweaks not present in the contest episode, such as fixing a softlock I completely overlooked.

Welcome. Here you will be able to find my creations that I found suitable to be published. All of these levels should be played using SMBX2 Beta 3.

Minor update made to Super Shellway 3000. Changes: prevented two potential zips; a particular kaizo block can no longer be abused to bypass a jump; shortened the post-goal area.
The download link has been updated.

we don't need to know what you're playing or about to play all the time

just share your impressions after you played something (in more than just a few words)

You use beautiful graphics, and the levels come out beautiful. Most of all I liked Wet Swooper Cave as it is in SMB3 style, I basically love it.

Multicultural Airport now included, with a few small tweaks that aren't in the contest episode's version of the level.

i like the funny horse level(s) a lot, but if i'm being honest i really think part 3 should've had a checkpoint in the second room to begin with. having to wait for bowser to do his thing every time i mess up the spingrab cause of momentum jank isn't my idea of a great time.

everything else is fantastic though, can't beat the "throw shell into the glass" setup in part 1 myself because of keyboard rollover but overall the obstacle design is 10/10 throughout all the parts.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the levels!
Admittedly, part 3 was built in just a little over an hour (right before the deadline), and it was insanity to make that quickly. The way the Yoshi storage glitch works, having checkpoints without a proper reset system that made sure the NPCs in the level always occupy the exact array indices they're supposed to (which is what Enjl ended up implementing for the contest episode's version of the level - big shoutouts to him) would be practically infeasible. I was definitely not in any position to bother with it at the time, seeing as I just barely managed to get the level to work in the first place. (Fun fact about that: I built the level entirely backwards, starting with the final section - every time I added a new section I had to re-replace every NPC in the level to make sure it works. I'm sure there'd be better ways of doing it, but I was in full panic mode and I just needed to get it done lol)

i saw this post as i was in the middle of rendering my own recording of the level after i'd figured out a consistent strat for part 1 lol
jedat will probably upload his own playthrough eventually (and it'll have all the intended solutions unlike mine) but in the meantime you might find this useful.
