Super Mario Bros. Retro is a remake of the classic Super Mario Bros. and it's harder arcade "port", VS. Super Mario Bros..

Features:
  • 2 different modes (Original and Extra/Hard)
  • 32 levels for each mode
  • A Hidden Level to discover
  • Playable Mario and Luigi (complete with retro outfit colors)
  • Most NPCs are complete with their retro colors while keeping their SMB3 looks
Changes from the SMBX 1.3.0.1 Version:
  • All the main stage SMB3 Card Roulette are replaced with the SMW Goal.
  • Toad's/Peach's dialog changes depending if you're using Mario or Luigi.
  • Updated the bridge breaking event in the castle stages.
  • All the original Starman blocks now contain Starmen.

Note:
  • This is a mixture of the NES SMB, SMAS SMB and SMB3 in a way.
  • You need to finish the Original Mode to unlock Extra/Hard Mode.
  • Overshooting the castle door will send you to the title stage, so watch out.
  • Toad/Peach will simply say "....." if you managed to use characters aside from Mario and Luigi.

I'll play your episode as soon as I have more free time. It seems great judging by screenshots and main idea about it.
About Starman, why don't you reopen levels in PGE and add Starman?

I doubt I'll get any response considering how old this topic is, but how did you disable the star counter for the warp at the end of World 8-3? I've been trying to do the same thing for my episode and even while studying it in the level editor I can't figure it out. What's the secret to it?

Nice, remasters always interest me, but I like the more obscure remake of VS Super Mario Bros. This looks interesting.
